Millwall manager Neil Harris has completed his sixth signing of the summer, with the club website confirming that midfielder Jayson Molumby has joined on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.

The central midfielder is adept both from an attacking and defensive perspective, and is the current captain of the Republic of Ireland under-21's.

What do you make of this signing? Is the 19-year-old a good addition to Millwall?

We discuss........

Chris Gallagher

"I haven't seen enough of him to judge but he is highly-rated and his attitude to the move has been refreshing.

"The Irish youngster has expressed his delight at getting the chance to play for the Lions and his hunger to do well is exactly what the fans want to see.

"As well as that, there's no doubt that Neil Harris needed to add to his midfield as there is a lack of quality and depth in that department, so it's good to see he recognised that. He should add energy to the midfield and importantly he is a technically gifted player and Millwall need someone who can help them manage games better and control the tempo as it's been an issue in the past.

"Now, it's down to the player to take this opportunity and the recruitment team at The Den will hope they have got a coup in landing the Brighton youngster."

Toby Wilding

"This may not be too bad a move for Millwall.

"Questions will be asked about whether the 19-year-old is ready for the step up to Championship level, but he has already been playing with Brighton's Under 23's for some time now.

"It could therefore be argued that he is ready for the step up to senior football, and his quick transition up to that Under 23s level does suggest that he has the adaptability necessary to adjust to the demands of the Championship.

"As a versatile midfielder who can cover a number of areas in the centre of the park, this could also be a smart move for Millwall in terms of providing them with someone who can offer an option in a variety of positions, which may be useful for them when injuries and suspensions start to take effect further on in the season."

George Harbey

“Molumby is clearly a player with a lot of potential, and is very highly regarded by both Brighton and the Republic of Ireland national side.

“He is a very versatile midfielder, able to play a bit further forward or drop back into holding midfield if needs be, which will be very useful to Neil Harris next season.

“They already have a lot of quality options in that area, with the likes of Ben Thompson vying for a regular place in Harris’ side next season.

“This could turn out to be a tremendous loan signing for the Lions.”
