Hull City manager Grant McCann faces competition from QPR in his pursuit of Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall, according to Football Insider, with both clubs keen on the player who spent last season with Rangers in the SPFL.

Worrall fell out of favour during the reign of Aitor Karanka at the City Ground and went out on loan, but is currently a part of pre-season at Forest, as he looks to impress new manager Sabri Lamouchi.

So with Hull City keen on him, would Worrall be a good fit at the KCOM Stadium?

We discuss........

Kealan Hughes

"This is an interesting move from Hull, but Worrall would be a good addition to the squad and is an upgrade on some of the centre-backs already at the club.

"He did well at Rangers last season and has impressed on occasion at Forest, but if he is to become a top Championship defender then he has some improvement to do.

"He is very commanding at the back and wins a lot of aerial duels, but he needs to improve his awareness and positioning in order to keep clean sheets for The Tigers.

"Jordy de Wijs was superb for Hull last season and he is a player who Worrall could learn a lot from, and if they are able to build a strong partnership then Hull will have a great platform for success this season."

Ned Holmes

“This could be a smart move from the Tigers.

“Worrall was seen as excess to requirements under Aitor Karanka but was impressive and became an important player out on loan at Rangers.

“He has proven at Forest that he understands what it takes to play in the English second tier, having made more than 50 appearances in the league, and his confidence should be high after he repaid the faith showed in him by Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.

“The 22-year-old will be an investment for the Championship side and given first-team opportunities should be able to develop further over the next few years.

“Worrall has just one year left on his deal at the City Ground, which should mean that Hull will be able to sign him relatively cheaply.”

Jacob Potter

"This would be a smart bit of business.

"Worrall hasn’t been given the chance to impress at Nottingham Forest recently, and he clearly isn’t in Sabri Lamouchi’s plans for the future, so a move to Hull could be the ideal move for him.

"If the Tigers can offer him first-team assurances on a regular basis, then I think he could be tempted to choose them over QPR, who are also rumoured to be interested in signing him.

"He’s still at a young age, and has already shown that he can perform to a high standard, having made a good impression out on loan with Rangers last season.

"He needs regular game time in the Championship as soon as possible, and if he isn’t going to get that with Forest, then he needs to look for a move elsewhere."
