Huddersfield Town manager Jan Siewert is looking to strengthen his squad this summer, with Tottenham Hotspur youngster Tashan Oakley-Boothe a target, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Oakley-Boothe has struggled to make an impact in the Spurs first team, so a loan move could be just the right move for the 19-year-old midfielder, who was a key part of the England's under-17 World Cup winning side of two years ago.

So would Oakley-Boothe be a good addition to the Terriers?

We discuss........

Toby Wilding

"I'm not exactly sure they need him to be honest.

"There can be no doubting Oakley-Boothe has potential, given he is already on the fringes of a Spurs team with aspirations of silverware at the age of just 17, but Huddersfield already seem to have plenty of options in his central midfield position.

"Given they will be looking to bounce back following such a dismal season last year, you feel the Terriers may prefer to put their faith in more proven and established talents such as Jonathan Hogg and Aaron Mooy as they look to do just that in the current campaign.

"If however, they were to lose some of those players, things could change quickly, and a move for someone with the sort of promise that Oakley-Boothe has shown may not be such a bad idea after all."

Alfie Burns

“This is a market that served Huddersfield so well during their last season in the Championship, and you can certainly see why Oakley-Boothe would appeal to the Yorkshire side.

“Aaron Mooy, Kasey Palmer and Izzy Brown were massive players for Town last time out when they won promotion, and the use of the Premier League loan market has become even more important in the last 12 months.

“In terms of Oakley-Boothe, he has good versatility and would provide plenty of cover right across the midfield for the Terriers over the course of the season.

“His lack of senior experience would be a concern heading into the Championship, but Huddersfield certainly have players that could help carry his potential.”

George Harbey

“Oakley-Boothe is a player with huge potential and is clearly highly regarded at Spurs, but he needs to follow in the footsteps of Luke Amos and move on loan to the Championship this summer.

“He is a tenacious, energetic midfielder able to play in a three-man midfield, or sit just in front of the back four, making him a potentially perfect signing for Huddersfield.

“They need that sort of player in their squad, especially if the likes of Jonathan Hogg or Phillip Billing depart the John Smith’s Stadium this summer.

“This would be a shrewd addition for Jan Siewert’s side.”
