Coventry City have enjoyed a good start to the season, unbeaten in four and currently third in League One, but that has not stopped manager Mark Robins looking to strengthen his squad after agreeing a loan deal to take Aston Villa midfielder Callum O'Hare on a season long loan, as confirmed on the club website.

The 21-year-old, has made nine appearances for Villa since arriving in 2016, but spent the second half of last season on loan at Carlisle United in League Two, where the England U20 international scored three goals in 16 appearances.

So will O'Hare be a good addition at the Sky Blues?

We discuss........

Dean Cooke

"It's a great signing for the Sky Blues as it only bolsters their attacking options. They have had a great start to the season and this will only encourage Mark Robins' side even more.

"O'Hare was impressive during his stint at Carlisle and has the potential ability to really cause teams problems in League One.

"He's made appearances for Aston Villa whilst they were in the Championship so has a lot about him, and could be one of the best buys that has gone a little bit under the radar."

Kealan Hughes

"This is a good move for both the player and the club, and after succeeding in League Two last year with Carlisle, O'Hare should be ready to make the step up.

"Coventry have started well in League One so the youngster could find it difficult to break into the team at first, but he will add to their strength in depth and his versatility means he will be playing sooner rather than later.

"In 16 appearances last season he scored three and assisted three for Carlisle, which shows he is keen to get into the opposition final third and put chances away - something which is lacking in the Sky Blues squad.

"He will therefore offer a threat from deep, making Coventry more difficult to contain, and once he gets a regular run in the side he should progress and show what he is all about."

Alfie Burns

“This is a great move for O’Hare, Coventry and Aston Villa.

“O’Hare needed game time, and Coventry are going to give him that, no doubt. He’s a fantastic little player and will add so much to League One if he gets a regular run of games.

“You don’t get branded ‘the next Jack Grealish’ around Villa Park if you’ve not got something about you, and Villa will be hoping their midfielder showcases his talent in the EFL.

“Perhaps the only downside is that he’ll be playing at St Andrew’s.”
