‘A boy not ready for a man’s game’ – Sunderland fans issue harsh assessment of player

Jake Clarke-Salter saw red for the second match in a row this weekend as Sunderland slipped to another costly defeat.

The 20-year-old is on loan at the Stadium of Light from Chelsea, but his 60th minute dismissal effectively killed off Sunderland’s chances of getting back into the game.

Just minutes later, Preston scored a second goal, meaning Sunderland are now winless in ten matches.

He was also sent off in February against Middlesbrough, this being his first game back after suspension.

He’s made eight appearances since his January loan move after playing once for Chelsea in this season’s EFL Cup.

Chris Coleman labelled the defender’s actions as ‘inexperience’ and ‘possibly pressure’, after he picked up his second booking for a pull back in the middle of the park. Fans of the Black Cats weren’t quite as generous in their assessment of the situation.

The took to Twitter to announce their displeasure at both the player and at the club in general. Even the odd Newcastle fan took time out of their busy schedule to offer their condolences, of sorts.
