Premier League bound Norwich City look set to miss out on reported target Sergi Enrich, after the striker signed a three year contract extension with Spanish side Eibar.

Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo had reported that The Canaries and Premier League side Watford had both been interested in Enrich, but it now seems that the striker is going nowhere for the foreseeable future, after Eibar confirmed Enrich had signed an extension to his deal, keeping him at the club until 2022.

Enrich has scored 34 goals in 135 appearances for Eibar since joining from fellow Spanish side Numanica in 2015, with the 29-year-old helping the Spanish minnows to make it five straight seasons in the top flight.

So, with it now looking as though Norwich will miss out on Enrich, is this a blow for Daniel Farke's side ahead of their return to the Premier League?

We asked some of our Football League World writers for their opinions...

Ben Lang

"I don't think this is much of a blow.

"Enrich doesn't have a great goalscoring record and I think there are younger, more hungry strikers out there.

"Norwich need a striker who can challenge Pukki for the starting spot, and I don't think Enrich would have quite made the grade. It will not be too much of an issue for Norwich to look elsewhere."

Toby Wilding

"This could be a blow for Norwich.

"The Canaries need alternatives to Teemu Puuki and Enrich's top flight experience and ability could have been a valuable asset.

"They would have also been able to get him on a free were it not for this extension, and with the budget Norwich are expected to have, that would have been helpful in terms of strengthening other areas of the squad."

Jacob Potter

"It isn't that big of a concern.

"There's no doubting that he is a player of quality, but Norwich will be able to attract better options to the club now that they are in the Premier League.

"It's not a big blow and I think it's a blessing in disguise for the Canaries."
