Blackburn Rovers have have suffered a slight slump in form in the Championship which saw them drop to 17th in the table heading into the international break.

Tony Mowbray's side could be set to welcome back Tosin Adarabioyo to his side though, with the defender being ruled out of action since their second league game of the season.

The 21-year-old took to Instagram over the international break to issue a positive update on his road to recovery and claims that he will be back in action soon.

Football League World's Blackburn Rovers fan pundit Neil McDonald issued his thoughts on the defender's injury update, and labelled it as 'a big boost'.

"Tosin Adarabioyo’s return will add some much needed depth the centre back department.

"With Darragh Lenihan and Derrick Williams the only other recognised central defenders in the first team squad it will provide Rovers’ manager Tony Mowbray with some much needed cover, which will be a big boost."

McDonald is keen to see the defender in action this season, and hopes that his confidence on the ball will prove to be a useful asset for Mowbray's men.

"Adarabioyo potentially offers something a bit different with his ability to bring the ball out of defence, which you would expect from someone who has come through the Manchester City academy.

"This will suit the style of play Mowbray is trying to get the team to play this season and hopefully get our midfielders on the ball more often and help Blackburn be more dominant in possession."

The regular punter isn't expecting to see the Manchester City loanee start for Mowbray's side when he is deemed fit enough though, but has high-hopes for the youngster in his time with the club this term.

"I would expect him to start on the bench but he could well become a fixture in the first team soon.

"Rovers are in desperate need of someone to challenge the defensive pairing of Williams and Lenihan, as well as, requiring cover for Ryan Nyambe and Elliott Bennett at right back.

"As Adarabioyo can fill both of these roles, this could lead to plenty of game time for the youngster in the future."
