Kalvin Phillips is set to continue in his usual lynchpin role this week, having replaced Adam Forshaw as the holding midfielder for Marcelo Bielsa.
As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Phillips will be given the role back he held so diligently at the beginning of the season. He's been out of the side in recent weeks following his red card against Nottingham Forest, but his last-gasp leveller against Middlesbrough underlined his return to the side.
The confident academy graduate told the paper he wasn't bothered where he played, as long as he's helping the side on to better things.
“I’m not bothered where I play, as long as we’re winning,” Phillips said. “I’m really not fussed. I just hope we get on a decent little run and make sure we’re up there at the end of the season.
"I think that’s what this squad is all about. We fight for each other every day and it’s always good to play in a team like we have. You feel good about yourselves when you go to places like (Middlesbrough) and put on a performance like we did.”
The news has been greeted positively on Twitter, with the overwhelming feeling being he's earned his place back in the side. He sits as the holding midfielder in a 4-1-4-1 formation and one poster claimed Leeds are a much better team with him in it.
That usual Leeds United wit is evident in the replies too, with one poster suggesting that maybe if Kiko Casilla turns out to be average, Phillips might be considered in goal!
