Chris Hughton's tenure of Nottingham Forest got off to a perfect start at the weekend, with the Reds defeating Blackburn Rovers by a goal to nil at Ewood Park.

The Reds went into this one having lost their first four league games, a run of form which ultimately cost Sabri Lamouchi his job, leading to the appointment of Hughton last week.

His new side came up against a Blackburn outfit who had made a great start to the season, scoring 11 goals and picking up seven points from their first four games.

It was a battling, determined and gritty performance from the Reds, though, who limited Blackburn to very few chances and perhaps deserved all three points.

Forest left it late to secure their first win of the campaign, with Joe Lolley's deflected effort in stoppage-time nestling into the bottom corner.

Forest's defensive performance was hugely impressive, with Scott McKenna reclaiming his place in the side after recovering from a slight injury problem.

The Scottish international was a rock at the back alongside Tobias Figueiredo, and limited the likes of Adam Armstrong, Ben Brereton and Sam Gallagher to very few chances.
