Deal Close: Premier League midfielder set for Nottingham Forest move

Nottingham Forest are set to sign unwanted Middlesbrough winger Mustapha Carayol, according to HITC.

The 27-year-old was told by Boro boss Aitor Karanka earlier this summer that he was not in his plans and, as a result, he was not handed a squad number for the up-and-coming season.

Since then, Carayol has been on the lookout for a new club and a move to League One Bolton collapsed, after Trotters manager Phil Parkinson suggested that the Gambian international favoured a move back to London.

A move to the capital has failed to capitalise but he now looks set for a move back to the Championship with Forest.

With Carayol having no future at Boro, and Forest on the lookout for a new winger after the departure of Oliver Burke, the deal is set to be completed before the transfer deadline on Wednesday.

Forest fans…What do you make of the news? Will Carayol be a good signing for your side? Is he the man to replace Oliver Burke? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
