Speaking exclusively to Football League World, Amadeu Paixao and Erik Alonso have come under the spotlight from former Sheffield Wednesday man Carlton Palmer with Alonso recently leaving the Owls.

The pair are, or were in Alonso's case, advisors at Sheffield Wednesday to owner Dejphon Chansiri and must obviously take some of the accreditation when it comes to recent decisions at the club.

Indeed, views may have been offered over the next manager at Hillsborough with Neil Thompson still in charge and, amid wider decisions made in S6, Palmer isn't sure either have been overly useful or constructive in their roles.

Speaking exclusively to Football League World, Palmer revealed he wasn't sure how much they'd been involved in the managerial hunt but, overall, some of the advice they've given hasn't been good:

"Well, I don't know that. So I can't say whether they have or whether they haven't, but the proofs in the pudding. And whatever he's advising him [Chansiri] he's not advising him right. Because it's not right."

There's certainly plenty going on at Sheffield Wednesday at the moment and fans will just hope whatever decision gets made with the new manager will be one that yields better results and a clamber up the table.

Stability is key for any club looking to make progress and the Owls really do need some of that after an up and down last couple of years.

For Palmer, then, it's clear that the advisors perhaps haven't overly been helpful of late.
