Millwall began their first campaign back in the Championship with 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Neil Harris has worked hard this summer to ensure his squad was ready to tackle their East Midlands opponents, but with almost a month left of the transfer window, further recruitments are expected in East London.

One man Harris may consider a swoop for is Newcastle United defender, Curtis Good, with the Australian international surely available to leave the club this summer following the Magpies promotion to the top flight.

The 24-year-old has failed to make a first team league outing for the club despite spending the last five years on the books, and with just a year remaining on his current deal, is surely surplus to requirements at the club.

Good enjoyed short loan spells at Bradford and Dundee, but now must leave the north east in search of regular first team action.

Millwall should consider taking a punt on the player, and bolstering their squad with further defensive reinforcements is important if the club are to enjoy a second consecutive year of second tier football.

It will be a long, tough season for the Lions, and adding a player of Good’s potential for what will be a nominal fee will be a shrewd move by Harris.

Good has a lot to prove having failed to make the grade at Newcastle, and should he be afforded the opportunity by Harris, the former striker will surely be rewarded for placing his faith in the young man.

How many more new faces are required at the Den before your squad is complete, Lions fans?
