£9m forward bid not made though Reading remain keen

Brentford striker Scott Hogan is of interest to Reading, though the club have NOT tabled a record £9m bid for him, according to Get Reading

The Sun had yesterday reported that the Royals had been prepared to spend such a big fee on the in-form forward, who has notched 13 goals for the Bees this term.

While boss Jaap Stam is understood to be keen on the 24-year-old hotshot as he looks to bolster his promotion bid, such a huge fee is not thought to have been offered.

Aston Villa are also said to be interested as they look for another striker and the Griffin Park outfit do not look to be in the best shape to keep their prized asset.

Some way off the Play-Offs right now, a big bid in the New Year would surely tempt them into selling, with them closer to the relegation zone than the top six right now.

The publication suggests reports of a club-record offer are a ‘joke’, though there is interest in Hogan.

Would Hogan fire Reading to the automatic spots? Let us know below…
