Brentford got back to winning ways in emphatic style at the weekend, defeating Sheffield Wednesday 5-0 at Griffin Park.

It is the second time Thomas Frank's side have scored five or more goals at home this season, and the Bees proved once again how formidable they can be in the division.

A brace from Josh Dasilva, and further strikes from Emiliano Marcondes, Bryan Mbeumo and Tariqe Fosu sealed the three points for the west London side, who move up to fourth.

Prior to the game, Brentford were on a five-game run without a win.

As for Sheffield Wednesday, their woes continue. The loss was their ninth in fourteen league games.

The standout player for the Bees was 21-year-old Josh Dasilva, who put in a Man of the Match performance in central midfield.

Here, we look closely at his statistics from Saturday afternoon...

The 21-year-old played a total of 85 minutes, before being replaced by Joel Valencia. But, in that time, Dasilva certainly made a lasting impression on the game.

His two goals proved to be crucial for Brentford, with each effort coming either side of the break. It also ended his 18-game drought, as he last found the net against Luton in November.

Both strikes were calm and composed finishes. His first was a left-footed effort from inside the penalty area that went through the goalkeeper's legs.

His second involved a good piece of play, as Said Benrahma picked him out at the edge of the area, with the 21-year-old turning his back on two Owls defenders to slot home a calm finish to make it 4-0.

Although his two goals proved to be crucial, there were also other elements of his game that stood out.

His passing accuracy stood at 91%, which is an excellent figure, showing that he hardly put a foot wrong all afternoon.

He also made two successful dribbles during the game, showing the energy he has in midfield. The dribbles were also classed as progressive runs, highlighting the attacking intent he brought to the game.

All in all, it was a very afternoon for the 21-year-old, and he will hoping to be consistent in his performances from now until of the season.
