After arriving at Elland Road on a season-long loan from Brighton this summer, Ben White has been one of the standout players for Leeds United this season.

The 21-year-old defender has played every minute of every game for the Whites in the Championship and has proved to be a great replacement for Pontus Jansson at centre-back.

If recent reports are to be believed, White's impressive performances for Leeds have caught the eye of Liverpool, with Football Insider claiming that the Premier League leaders are interested in signing the defender, who Brighton now value at £20million.

Liverpool have been blown away by the progress that White has made at Leeds so far this season and have identified him as a possible replacement for Dejan Lovren.

In the latest FLW Spotlight, we assess whether White would be good enough to play for Liverpool, by taking a closer look at some of his stats for Leeds so far this season...

White has been an extremely important player for Leeds so far this season. Despite having no previous experience at this level, he's played every minute of every game in the Championship. He's made 13 appearances in all competitions, playing 1209 minutes in total.

His passing stats are excellent. White has made a total of 776 passes, with a pass accuracy of 91.9%. He's made an average of 57.77 passes per game and has rarely given the ball away. This is very impressive for a defender and will no doubt have pleased Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

White has also completed five of his six (83.3%) attempted dribbles this season. He's clearly very good on the ball and is totally comfortable playing out from the back.

He's shown great composure on the ball and his distribution has been very good, and is crucial to the way that Leeds play under Marcelo Bielsa.

White's defensive contribution has also been vital for Leeds this season. He's won 77% of his 112 defensive duels, which he'll no doubt be pleased with. He's also won 54.7% of his 64 aerial duels.

He may not be the tallest or most aerially dominant defender, but his positional awareness, timing and reading of the game makes him very good at dealing with balls into the box.

White has also made 40 interceptions, 41 clearances and blocked seven shots. He's played a key role in ensuring that Leeds have the best defensive record in the Championship so far this season.

The defender has also won two of his attempted four sliding tackles. While he certainly insist afraid to get stuck in, he's not one to dive into challenges unnecessarily.

His composure and reading of the game means that he doesn't have to slide in very often. He's only given away nine fouls all season, which is very impressive for a centre-back and has been booked just once.

White has been superb for Leeds so far this season, not only has he formed a great partnership with Liam Cooper at centre-back, but he's also been an excellent replacement for Jansson.

It's hard to believe that he'd never played in the Championship before the start of this season. He's got all the attributes of a top centre-half and has shown that he's got the potential to be a top player.

He's shown that he could have what it takes to make the step up to the Premier League and it's not surprising that a top club like Liverpool are interested in him.

White could have a very big future ahead of him, but as far fans at Elland Road are concerned, he's going to have a key role to play in Leeds' promotion push this season.
