The January transfer window proved to be another month where speculation surrounded Tom Cairney’s future, with the Fulham midfielder linked with a move to the Premier League.

Particularly over the last 18 months, Cairney has been exceptional at Craven Cottage, with last season’s contribution dragging Fulham into the top-six, which ultimately led to Premier League interest in the midfielder.

This season, Cairney hasn’t had the same sort of impact so far, but still has time to play a crucial role in another promotion push, with Slavisa Jokanovic’s side currently sitting fifth in the Championship table, seven points adrift of the top-two.

Here at FLW, we have crunched the numbers behind Cairney’s 2017/18 campaign, looking at the 27-year-old’s contribution at Craven Cottage.

Cairney has made just 19 appearances this season, scoring one goal and adding three assists for the Cottagers.

However, despite not finding his top form in the final third, some of the midfielder’s others numbers are extremely impressive, with Cairney averaging 74 passes per game at a success rate of 91.3%.

Added to that, Cairney makes a number of key passes every time he takes to the field, averaging 1.9 per game.
