90 minutes, 10 aerial duels won: The Middlesbrough man key to their play-off push

Middlesbrough continue to push on in the Sky Bet Championship, with Tony Pulis’ side now in pole position in the race for sixth after a string of impressive results.

Since Pulis’ arrival Boro have been inconsistent, but have recently found their best form and moved into a commanding position in the race for the top-six.

Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Barnsley maintained Boro’s place in the top-six, with the victory at the Riverside Stadium their third in three consecutive matches.

There was another goal for Patrick Bamford against the Tykes, with the striker enjoying a fine run of form, having scored on eight occasions in his last five appearances.

Here at FLW, we take a closer look at Bamford’s stats from Saturday afternoon, as Boro took another huge step in the direction of play-off football:

Bamford completed 90 minutes, scoring once from his only shot at goal.

The 24-year-old, who is not known for his physical presence at the top of the field, also won 10 aerial duels during a fine performance and was tidy with the ball when in possession.

The forward made 23 passes, which came at a success rate of 60.9%.
