Watford are set for an interesting summer transfer window ahead, with Xisco Munoz's side preparing for life in the Premier League.

The Hornets finished second in the Championship table, and will be looking to add to their squad in the coming months, as they look to avoid relegation from the top-flight after one season.

Watford's performances in the second-half of this year's campaign caught the eye, and they'll fancy their chances of causing problems for teams in the Premier League next term.

We've already seen the Hornets linked with a move for a number of players in the January transfer window, and it'll be interesting to see whether the club reignite their interest in some of those heading into the summer.

We take a look at NINE transfer rumours from earlier this season that Watford must consider revisiting in the near future.

Ugbo was linked with a move to Watford in the January transfer window, with a fee of £5million being claimed by a report from The Athletic.

The forward is still with Chelsea, but has caught the eye with some strong performances for Belgian side Cercle Brugge, where he has scored 17 goals in 34 appearances this term.

Ugbo hasn't made a senior appearance for Chelsea's first-team, but has experience in English football, having been out on loan with the likes of Barnsley and MK Dons.

Watford could benefit from adding attacking depth to their team in the summer transfer window, with it remaining to be seen as to whether Troy Deeney will remain at Vicarage Road, with his current deal set to expire in the near future.

Watford were previously linked with a loan move for Matej Vydra during the January transfer window, with the Czech international struggling for consistent minutes whilst with Burnley.

For one reason or another though, a move failed to materialise, which resulted in him sticking with the Premier League side, where he has gone on to make 30 appearances in all competitions for them this term.

Vydra has experience in the top-flight, and given that he'd be no stranger to his surroundings if he moved back to Vicarage Road, it could be a move that works well for all parties involved heading into the summer transfer window.

James Lea Siliki was heavily linked with a loan move to Vicarage Road in the New Year, with it being claimed that both parties were holding talks over a potential deal in the January transfer window.

But talks reportedly broke down towards the end of the winter transfer window, and it'll be interesting to see whether the Hornets reignite their interest in landing his signature in the near future.

The midfielder has gone on to make 12 appearances in total for French side Rennes, who are currently sat seventh in the Ligue 1 table after 36 matches in this year's campaign.

His contract with Rennes isn't set to expire until the summer of 2023, but Watford might fancy their chances of landing his signature, with the prospect of playing Premier League football being a tempting proposition.

Watford's interest in signing Walace from Italian side Udinese was no secret earlier this season, but a move failed to materialise after an agreement couldn't be reached during the January transfer window.

He has been with Udinese since 2019, and has made 27 appearances in all competitions for them, as they currently sit 11th in the Serie A table.

Watford are going to need strength in depth heading into the 2021/22 season, and Walace could be a useful addition to their squad, even if he isn't going to be a regular starter for Xisco Munoz's side in the Premier League.

Keke Simmonds is currently on the books with Manchester City, but his future with the Premier League side remains unclear at this stage.

The youngster was linked with a move to Watford during the January transfer window, and reportedly made an enquiry into striking a deal with the forward.

Simmonds is out-of-contract at the end of the 2020/21 season, and it remains to be seen as to whether the youngster will sign a new contract with Manchester City beyond the end of this year's campaign.

It would seem highly unlikely that he'd be anywhere near the plans for the Watford first-team anytime soon, but he could prove to be a smart addition for the future for the Hornets.

Femenia was linked with a move to Russian side Spartak Moscow during the summer of 2020, but a move failed to materialise.

The full-back has gone on to play a key role in the club's promotion-winning campaign this term, as he's made 37 appearances in all competitions for Xisco Munoz' side.

Femenia's contract with Watford is set to expire, and you would imagine that his strong performances this season haven't gone unnoticed.

It'll be interesting to see whether Watford look at tying him down to a new contract in the coming months, after winning promotion into the Premier League.

Watford were believed to be rivalling Championship rivals AFC Bournemouth, as well as Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace earlier this season, according to Wales Online.

Matondo is currently contracted with German side FC Schalke 04, but moved to Stoke City on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.

He made 11 appearances in all competitions for the Potters, chipping in with one goal as they finished 14th in the second-tier standings.

Matondo still has two years remaining on his contract with Schalke, but with the German side set to be relegated from the Bundesliga, he could be on the move in the summer transfer window.

Ismaila Sarr continues to be linked with a move away from Vicarage Road, with the winger catching the eye with a number of impressive performances for Watford this term.

The winger hardly looked out of place in the Premier League during the 2019/20 season, and it won't have come as a surprise to many to see him playing a key role in their promotion-winning campaign.

Sarr chipped in with 13 goals and ten assists in all competitions this season, and has previously been attracting interest from the likes of Crystal Palace and Manchester United in the past.

Watford could be tempted to cash in on their star man, as they could potentially reinvest the funds from his sale into other areas of his squad.

Josh Windass is likely to be a player attracting significant interest heading into the summer transfer window, with Sheffield Wednesday recently being relegated into the third-tier of English football.

The forward has scored ten goals in 44 appearances for the Owls, although his efforts weren't quite enough to stop them from dropping into League One on the final day of this year's campaign.

It was previously claimed that Watford were rivalling the likes of West Brom to a potential deal to sign the 27-year-old, who certainly isn't going to be short of offers heading into the summer transfer window.
