It's set to be a busy transfer window for Sheffield United.

With their relegation from the Premier League having long since been confirmed, the Blades will be need to re-shape their squad to ensure they do not enter freefall after such a dismal campaign.

That of course, means there are likely to be a significant number of changes to the squad at Bramall Lane once the summer transfer window opens, which many will no doubt be watching with interest.

So here, we've taken a look at nine transfer rumours from earlier in the season that Sheffield United could revisit summer, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Sheffield United have struggled for goals this season, and that is something they will need to address going forward.

Johnson Clarke-Harris was reportedly a target for the Blades back in January, and having scored 31 league goals to fire Peterborough to promotion to the Championship this season, he could could certainly add to their attacking firepower for next season.

One attacker the Blades could move for his summer with a view to the future is Wigan's 19-year-old forward Kyle Joseph, who has five goals in 17 league appearances this season.

Sheffield United were linked with the teenager back in January, but with a number of other clubs seemingly interested, the Blades may have to move quickly if they are to get this one done.

Sheffield United were also one of a number of clubs linked with a move for Inter Miami winger Lewis Morgan last summer.

With five goals and five assists in 24 MLS appearances last season, the former Celtic man could add an extra threat to the Blades' attack, and with an apparent asking price of £2million, he is a player they ought to be able to afford thanks to their parachute payments.

In defence, one player who could be a target worth revisiting for Sheffield United, is Liverpool's Ben Davies.

The Blades were apparently keen at the centre back in the lead-up to January, when he made the move to Anfield from Preston, but having yet to make an appearance for Jurgen Klopp's side, and with the likes of Virgil van Dijk set to return for Liverpool next season, it could be worth Sheffield United looking into this one again.

One other defensive candidate the Blades were apparently interested in back in January who has the pedigree to add to their side, is Marcos Rojo.

The Yorkshire club were apparently keen to take Rojo on loan from Manchester United back in January, when it was claimed the defender could be open to a move, although admittedly that is likely to have changed after he returned to his native Argentina to join Boca Juniors permanently at the start if February.

In midfield, Burnley midfielder Jack Cork is another Sheffield United could once again look to come the summer transfer window.

The Blades were seemingly interested in Cork in the build-up to the January window, and at 31, his experience could certainly be useful in the Championship, with Burnley potentially willing to sell given he is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract - making this their last chance to receive a fee for him.

If Cork does come in at Bramall Lane, that may be down to a departure of another midfielder, such as Sander Berge.

The Blades' record signing has apparently been the subject of interest from the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham earlier in the year, and given that with three years remaining on his contract - meaning Sheffield United could receive a decent fee for him - and the fact he has never really settled in Yorkshire, it could make sense to let him move on this summer.

Another player who Sheffield United could look to earn a fee for when the summer transfer window reopens, is Oli McBurnie.

Despite struggling to make an impact in the Blades' side this summer, reports have suggested Wolves have taken an interest in the Scot in a deal which could be worth £15million, a deal which would certainly be a boost for United ahead of their drop into the Championship.

One player who it seems Sheffield United will certainly bid farewell to this summer is John Lundstram, who Chris Wilder confirmed earlier in the season will leave this summer having turned down a contract.

Rangers were linked with a move for the midfielder in the lead-up to the January window, and while that did not materialise, Lundstram's seemingly inevitable departure - with Crystal Palace now also said to be interested - will at least help them clear some demands off the wage bill.
