Watford are set to be in for an interesting summer ahead, with Xisco Munoz planning for life in the Premier League with the Hornets.

They won promotion from the Championship this season after a hugely impressive second-half of this year's campaign, and they'll be eager for a prolonged spell back in the top-flight moving forwards.

Watford were relegated from the Premier League last season, and will be hopeful that they can avoid relegation back into the second-tier next term.

The Vicarage Road faithful will be keen to see their side keep hold of their key players, with interest already mounting in some of Munoz's squad.

But the Watford boss will also be keen to add to his squad before the start of the 2021/22 season, where they'll be back in the Premier League.

We take a look at NINE transfer developments we could see emerge at Watford this summer, as they look to prepare for their football back in the top-flight.

The future of Watford winger Ismaila Sarr is likely to remain 'up in the air' heading into the summer transfer window.

The winger has played a starring role in the club's promotion-winning season this term, with Sarr chipping in with 13 goals and ten assists in all competitions.

He has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United, but a move failed to materialise last year, as he remained at Vicarage Road, much to the delight of the Watford supporters.

But after these strong performances for the Hornets this term, it wouldn't come as a surprise to see Watford facing further interest from other clubs for Sarr this summer.

Deeney has been a fantastic servant to Watford over the years, and has made 416 appearances in total for the Hornets.

He has scored goals consistently in the Premier League with the club in the past, but has found regular game time hard to come by this season.

Deeney has made 18 appearances in all competitions this term, and has scored seven goals for Xisco Munoz's side.

He is out-of-contract at the end of the 2020/21 season though, and it remains to be seen as to whether he has a future at Vicarage Road.

Ashley Young is a player that plenty of the Vicarage Road faithful will know all about, with the 35-year-old starting his career with Watford.

He left the club back in 2007 in favour of a move to Aston Villa, and has gone on to play for the likes of Manchester United later down the line.

Young is currently with Italian giants Inter Milan, and has made 31 appearances in all competitions for them this season, as they clinched the Serie A table.

Fabrizio Romano has recently revealed that Watford are looking into the potential of re-signing Young during the summer transfer window, with his current contract with Inter Milan set to expire at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

Ben Foster has recently emerged as a surprise transfer target for Premier League giants Manchester City according to The Sun.

Foster has made 22 appearances for Watford this season, and has kept nine clean sheets, as the club won promotion back into the Premier League under the management of Xisco Munoz.

The shot-stopper has a considerable amount of experience that could be useful for the Hornets next season, but it remains to be seen as to whether his future will be at Vicarage Road.

Foster is contracted with Watford until the summer of 2022, and it'll be interesting to see whether City can match their valuation of the goalkeeper.

Ugbo has been linked with a move to Watford not so long ago, according to a report from The Athletic.

The forward is on the books with Chelsea, but has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances whilst out on loan with Cercle Brugge.

He has scored 17 goals in 34 appearances for the Belgian side this season, and it appears as though that hasn't gone unnoticed. The Athletic claim that Watford are preparing a £5million offer for Ugbo, as they look to prize him away from Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2021/21 league campaign.

It wouldn't come as a surprise to see the club move forward with their interest in Ugbo, especially if Troy Deeney was to depart in the summer.

Matej Vydra is a player that will remain a firm favourite at Vicarage Road, and he could be set to return to Watford in the summer.

The forward played a key role in the club's promotion-winning season in both the 2012/13 campaign and 2014/15 season, whilst scoring 38 goals in 95 appearances in total for Watford.

Vydra is now playing his football for Premier League side Burnley, and has found regular minutes hard to come by in the top-flight with Sean Dyche's side.

The Athletic have claimed that Vydra could be set for a return to Vicarage Road, with it being reported that the Hornets are set to offer him a pay rise in an attempt to prize him away from Turf Moor.

Watford have reportedly made Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy their number one target heading into the summer transfer window.

Murphy has found consistent minutes hard to find in this year's campaign in the Premier League, and has made just 13 league starts for Steve Bruce's side.

It is claimed by Football Insider that Watford are rivalling Southampton and Scottish giants Rangers to the potential signing of Murphy.

With promotion into the Premier League now secured, they could push ahead with their interest in signing Murphy.

Kabasele is another player that is out-of-contract heading into the summer of 2021, and it remains to be seen as to whether he'll be offered a new deal by Watford.

The defender has previously played for the club whilst they were in the Premier League, and has made 20 appearances in all competitions this term.

He's been behind both William Troost-Ekong and Francisco Sierralta in the pecking order in recent months, which could hint that his future lies elsewhere.

But with the Hornets back in the Premier League now, they could be tempted to offer him a new deal, as he's a player that has experience of playing in the top-flight.

Watford are reportedly likely to make AFC Wimbledon forward Joe Pigott their first signing since winning promotion into the Premier League according to The Mirror's Sam Elliott.

Pigott has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances for the League One side over the years, and has scored 22 goals in 51 appearances for them this season in the third-tier.

He has previously been attracting interest from Championship side Nottingham Forest, but it is claimed that Pigott would earn six times his current wage with AFC Wimbledon.

It remains to be seen as to whether the Hornets need to move on any of their current attacking options to make way for Pigott though.
