A number of Stoke City players will head into the final game of the season looking to prove a point to manager Michael O'Neill.

The Potters have endured a solid if spectacular season in the Championship, which is something a lot of fans would have taken after two turbulent seasons before now.

Their recent form has been disappointing, losing four of their last six and failing to win in that time, but overall, it has been a solid campaign.

They head into the final game of the season - an away trip to AFC Bournemouth - looking to end the season on a high, with some players looking to prove a point to the manager.

With so many first-team players out of contract at the end of next season, a lot of decisions are bound to be made this summer.

Here, we take a look at nine transfer developments we could see emerge at Stoke City this summer...

Powell is likely to attract interest after what has been a really promising year for him.

He has been dealt with so many injury blows in recent years, but this season has been his best for a while.

Powell has scored 12 goals in 39 Championship appearances for Stoke this season, chipping in with three assists.

The playmaker is out of contract at the end of next season, though, and whether they are able to tie him down to a new deal or not remains to be seen.

If the Premier League comes calling, then that appears unlikely.

If Powell was to leave, then Windass would be a ready-made replacement.

The attacking midfielder has scored 10 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions this term, as well as chipping in with six assists.

He is out of contract at the end of next season, but could be sold as Sheffield Wednesday's chances of survival hang by a thread.

Stoke have been linked with a move for Windass, with Football Insider claiming that the Potters, Cardiff City and Middlesbrough are interested in his signature.

It would certainly make sense if Powell left.

Another attacking midfielder who could potentially fill Powell's void is Paterson.

Paterson has endured a difficult campaign with injury, making only 20 appearances for Bristol City in the Championship, scoring three goals and registering two assists.

The 29-year-old is out of contract in the summer, though, and Football Insider claim that Stoke, Nottingham Forest, Birmingham City and Millwall are interested in his signature.

Dean Holden managed to get the best out of Paterson in the early stages of this season, playing him as a number 10 or number 8.

His relationship would be key, here.

Stoke are also said to be leading the race to sign Fleetwood Town's Jay Matete.

Alan Nixon claims that Stoke are at the front of the queue to sign Matete, who would cost around £800,000.

Matete has spent this season on loan in Sky Bet League Two with Grimsby Town, scoring three goals for the Mariners who were relegated to the National League last week.

Nevertheless, the midfielder has been a standout performer, and is now attracting admiring glances from Stoke.

He would be one an exciting addition and one for the future.

What a season Nathan Collins has had.

The defender is currently out sidelined through injury and has been missing since February, but he has impressed in his 22 Championship appearances this season.

Collins is under contract until 2024, but having been linked with the Premier League before, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him leave this summer.

Burnley are reportedly plotting a £9million move for the Irishman this summer, having failed with a £7.5million swoop back in January.

He's likely to attract interest from a higher division.

We could also a reunion between Jordan Jones and Michael O'Neill take place.

TEAMtalk reported back in March that Stoke and Middlesbrough were among those keeping an eye on the winger's situation at Rangers.

Jones, the Northern Ireland international, left Rangers after falling out of favour in January, leaving for Sunderland on loan.

He has since impressed for the Black Cats, scoring three goals and registering four assists in a total of 18 appearances.

It could all depend on a promotion from League One for Sunderland, but it will be interesting to see whether Jones chose Stoke if the opportunity came about.

O'Neill is likely to bolster his attacking options this summer, too, with Manchester City's Liam Delap said to be on the radar.

Delap, the son of former Stoke hero Rory, has scored a whopping 21 goals in only 19 appearances for City in the Premier League 2 this campaign.

He's also made three first-team appearances under Pep Guardiola this term, but a loan move away could be on the cards this summer.

TEAMtalk have previously reported that West Brom, Stoke, Cardiff and Boro are interested in a loan move for the powerful striker.

Could we see Lindsay leave Stoke for good this summer?

Having fallen out of favour in the first half of the campaign, Lindsay left for Preston North End on loan until the end of the season in January.

The Scotsman has since made 12 appearances for North End, scoring one goal.

With only one year left on his current deal at Stoke, a permanent move away this summer does seem to be on the cards.

Lindsay has also admitted that his future remains uncertain, casting doubt on his future in Staffordshire.

Jordan Cousins is also out of contract at the bet365 Stadium at the end of this season.

The midfielder has made 19 appearances in the Championship this season, but of those 19 appearances, only eight have been starts.

The 27-year-old hasn't played since the end of February, and has been an unused substitute for the last six games.

It appears likely that he will be let go at the end of his contract.
