Huddersfield Town are now safe in the Sky Bet Championship, with the Terriers having secured their status under the stewardship of Carlos Corberan, who has endured a tough start to managerial life.

The young coach took on a very tough task of revolutionising a club which had lost it's way in recent years and has done well to mould the team to fit his brand of football since coming in.

Despite avoiding an unthinkable relegation to League One, the Yorkshire side are still expected to make big changes to their squad this summer, with players sure to come in and head out over the coming months as the season draws to a close.

With several players also out of contract in just under a months time, there are sure to be big talks which are set to take place in the near future in order to decide on who stays and who goes.

Here, we take a look at NINE transfer developments we could see emerge at Huddersfield Town.

The Sheffield Wednesday man has long been linked with a departure from Hillsborough this term, with the Terriers said to be at the front of the queue of clubs who want to sign him this summer.

Prolific during his last spell with Huddersfield, Rhodes is sure to be interested in a return to his old stomping ground and could well be tempted to stay in the Championship if the Owls, as expected succumb to relegation as they currently sit three points from safety.

The Scotland international could provide the firepower that the club needs to turn itself into a real force next term.

The Ipswich Town striker is almost certain to leave Portman Road this summer and he could be a transfer target that Huddersfield look at again this summer, with the Terriers having made a push to bring him in back in January.

Although the move didn't come to fruition last time out, there is no reason why it can't come about in a months time, with Jackson seemingly keen to take the leap up the divisions after a frustrating campaign with the Tractor Boys.

Paul Cook is likely to toss him on the scrap heap and Town could well be the club that picks him up and gets him firing again.

The veteran centre back only arrived at the club back in January, but he could be one of the club's higher profile departures this summer as his deal continues to run down towards expiry.

Keogh has no played 20 games for the Terriers and has become a regular starter under Corberan but his age could well play in factor in the club deciding whether to keep him on for another year or not.

At the age of 34, the former Derby County man could be better suited to dropping back down the divisions if he is indeed moved on, in order to prolong his career.

The Morecambe winger has been in sparkling form for the League Two side this term and has been strongly linked with a summer move to Huddersfield in more recent times as his contract at the Globe Arena continues to run down towards expiry.

Still in his early twenties, Mendes Gomes would suit the attacking style of play that Corberan is looking to implement and would slot in nicely on either flank if he were to sign for the Terriers.

Competition for the youngster's signature will be fierce but it appears Town will be one of the clubs that will head up the queue this summer.

Bacuna is a player who has long been linked with a move elsewhere and could well be sold on for big money this summer if he does indeed decide to depart for pastures new away from Huddersfield.

Vitally, the Terriers do hold an option to extend the talented midfielder's contract should they wish to do so, which means he could well stay put for another season at least.

However if a strong bid is put in for his services when the window swings open, it wouldn't be at all surprising to see him move on as the club looks to maintain a good financial footing.

The talented midfield player is yet another name who has been linked with a departure from the Yorkshire club in more recent times and could well be tempted by a move to the Premier League if the likes of Newcastle United firm up their interest in bringing him in this summer.

It is said that the Terriers previously rebuffed interest in the 22-year-old from Burnley back in January and they could be fighting a losing battle to hold onto him as the speculation over his future continues to mount.

With Norwich City and Brentford also credited with interest, it could only be a matter of time before O'Brien departs.

The pacey wing back is another name that has been linked with a move to the Yorkshire club and could be a target that Corberan makes a big press for this summer.

Having spent the last few years of his career playing in the National League for Stockport County, Southam-Hales could well be tempted by the opportunity to return to the Football League after previously playing at that level for Fleetwood Town earlier in his career.

Huddersfield would provide a great environment for the 25-year-old to take his game to the next level and it is likely that he would cost considerably less in comparison to other prospective targets due to the poor financial status of the non league circuit at present.

Another striker who could soon be making great strides in the Championship, Charles has impressed a lot of clubs after performing so well for Accrington Stanley this term and is a player that Huddersfield are said to be looking at ahead of the summer.

Capable of scoring a wide array of goals, the Northern Irishman received recognition from his country after notching up 19 goals for Stanley and could well be keen to take his club game to the next level in the coming months too.

The Terriers appear likely to be in the race for his services but they will inevitably face stiff competition from elsewhere.

The attacking midfielder has only been used on 19 occasions by Corberan this term and appears likely to be heading for the exit door this summer after being linked with a move away from the club for a good few months now.

Once rated highly by many during his time at Brentford, Pritchard has seemingly lost his way in recent years and is a shadow of his former self.

Leaving Huddersfield would be the best option for all parties and it would give the 27-year-old a big opportunity to rejuvenate his stuttering career after experiencing a big fall from grace.
