Rangers have had their fair share of players over the years that haven't hit the heights originally set for them at Ibrox.

The Gers have had plenty of reasons to cheer this season, with Steven Gerrard's side winning the Scottish Premiership title after a dominant domestic season.

They're currently sat 20 points clear of arch rivals Celtic in the table, and will be hoping they can finish this year's campaign unbeaten under Gerrard's management.

They're set to take on Hibernian in their next match, in a game they'll be expected to pick up three points from, with five matches remaining in this year's league campaign.

Gerrard will be hoping that he can add to his squad in the summer transfer window, as they look to retain their Scottish Premiership title next year.

We take a look at NINE Rangers signings that flopped after originally arriving at Ibrox.

Pena is the first name on the list, with the Mexican signing for Rangers in 2017.

But he spent two years with the club, and made just 14 appearances for the Gers, before departing in 2019, as he moved to GKS Tychy.

Mladenović is next up, with the midfielder making just a handful of appearances for Rangers, after signing for the club in 2004 after a spell with Serbian side Red Star Belgrade.

He was sent out on loan in his first season with Rangers, and left the club permanently after just a year at Ibrox Stadium.

James Beattie is another forgetful face that played for Rangers over the years.

The forward made just ten appearances in total for the Gers, and failed to score a single goal in his time with the club, before departing in 2011.

Francisco Sandaza is next up, with the former Rangers man leaving the club after just a year with the Scottish club.

He was duped into a hoax phone call that would discuss him moving away from Rangers, and the Scottish giants terminated his contract soon after.

McKay signed for the club in 2011, but made just four appearances for Rangers in total.

He departed in favour of a move to South Korean side Busan IPark just a year after signing for Rangers, which earns him a spot on the list as one of Rangers' worst signings.

Emílson Cribari is next up, with the former Rangers man spending two years with the club, before departing in 2014, which proved to be his last spell as a player.

The Brazilian did feature regularly for the club, but failed to make a significant impact with the Gers over the years.

Svensson signed for the club in 2006, but is another player that struggled to adapt to his new surroundings at Ibrox.

The Swedish defender left the club after just a year in Scotland, and went on to sign for French side Caen.

Francis Jeffers is next up, with the former Rangers forward failing to make a notable impact in his time with the Scottish club.

Jeffers signed for the club on loan from Charlton Athletic, but didn't score a single goal in his time with Rangers.

Daniel Prodan is the last man on the list, with the Romanian defender signing for the club in 1998.

He didn't make a single appearance for the club, and spent seasons on loan elsewhere whilst with Rangers. Prodan tragically passed away in 2016 at the age of 44, with CSM Satu Mare's stadium being renamed in his honour.
