Over the years, there have been plenty of players who have been signed by Leicester City.

As you would expect to be the case with any club, some of those players have certainly had a bigger impact with the Foxes than others.

Here, we’ve decided to take a look at nine of those players who quite simply flopped in emphatic style during their time with Leicester, for one reason or another, and there are likely to be some individual who those of a Foxes persuasion may not – or would prefer not to – remember.

But how many of these do you actually recognise?

Kramaric joined Leicester for a then club record £9million in January 2015 from Rijeka in his native Croatia, where he had an outstanding goals record, not that he replicated that for the Foxes.

The striker scored just two goals in 15 Premier League appearances for Leicester, before being loaned to Hoffenheim a year after joining the Foxes in January 2016 having failed to make enough appearances to earn a 2015/16 Premier League winners medal, and made his move there permanent at the end of that season.

Lewis joined Leicester in 2001, making the move from Gillingham, but never managed to convince for the Foxes.

In his three years at the club, the midfielder made just 30 league appearances as he failed to adapt to the Premier League, and he would regularly be sent out on loan to clubs further down the Football League.

Benjamin joined Leicester from Cambridge in the summer of 2000 for a reported £1.5million, seemingly as a replacement for Liverpool bound Emile Heskey.

However, the striker never managed to make the required impact for the Foxes, scoring just 11 goals in 81 league games for Leicester, and was often sent out on loan before having his contract cancelled in January 2005.

Eadie joined Leicester from Norwich for around £3million in December 1999, although things never really worked out for the midfielder with the Foxes.

The midfielder was plagued by injuries during his time at Leicester, managing just 45 appearances in all competitions for the Foxes, before those fitness issues forced him to retire in the summer of 2003 at the age of just 28.

Having enjoyed an impressive return in front of goal for the likes of Gillingham, Bristol City and Wolves, Akinbiyi joined Leicester in the summer of 2000 for what was then a club record £5million.

However, the striker simply never managed to cope with the step up to the Premier League with the Foxes, managing just 13 goals in 67 appearances in total for Leicester, nowhere what they would have hoped for given the amount they spent on him at the time.

Slimani joined Leicester from Sporting Lisbon for another club record fee, this one said to be in the region of £28million, having scored 48 goals in 82 league games for the Portuguese giants.

Leicester however, didn't get a return anything like that, with the striker netting just eight goals in 36 Premier League games, regularly being loaned out elsewhere, before completing a permanent move to Lyon at the start of this year, and you could forgive people for being surprised he was still at Leicester at that point.

Arriving at Leicester from Sheffield Wednesday in 2004 having made over 400 appearances for the Owls, Pressman never made the same impact for the Foxes.

During his time with the club, the goalkeeper struggled to establish himself between the posts for Leicester, where he was susceptible to more than a few mistakes, eventually being released in February 2005, little more than half-a-year after joining.

Diabate joined Leicester from French second-tier side Gazalec Ajaccio in January 2018, but never managed to adapt to the Premier League.

The midfielder made just 19 appearances in all competitions for Leicester, with his only goals coming n a 5-1 win over Peterborough on his debut in the FA Cup, and he was loaned out twice in two-and-a-half years at The King Power, before leaving permanently for Turkish side Trabzonspor - who have already loaned him out to top-flight rivals Goztepe - last summer.

Much will have been expected of Swiss international Inler when he joined Leicester from Italian giants Napoli in the summer of 2015.

However, the form of Danny Drinkwater and N'Golo Kante meant that the midfielder was restricted to no more than five league appearances that season, just enough for a title-winners medal, and he left for Besiktas in August 2016, just a year after moving to the King Power.
