Sheffield United need to get busy in the summer transfer window with time running out for the Blades now.

So far this summer, Chris Wilder has only managed to make one signing, bringing in Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United.

In turn, they have loaned out and released a number of players, including Samir Carruthers, Clayton Donaldson and Nathan Thomas, as well as selling George Long to Hull City, Louis Reed to Peterborough United, James Hanson to AFC Wimbledon and David Brooks to Bournemouth.

Now it is time to strengthen the squad and there are a number of positions which need bolstering.

Centre-half is one in particular but reinforcements are required up front and probably in midfield as well.

Here are three Championship players that should firmly be on the Blades' radar as we enter the final stages of the summer transfer window.

Egan is the perfect solution at the back.

The Brentford man is relatively young but has plenty of first-team experience and he is a very underrated player at Championship level.

Hogan could the striker who fires Sheffield United to a promotion push, if he can rediscover the form he showed at Brentford.

At Aston Villa, he has been less prolific - netting nine goals last term - but in a new environment, Hogan could thrive.

Sheffield United should launch a cheeky move for Leeds United's Roofe.

The versatile forward plays as a striker, on the wing or as a number 10 and is a goal threat for the Whites.
