Ipswich Town have already begun their rebuilding job under Paul Cook this summer, with mass changes expected to continue at Portman Road as they build towards the new season.

The likes of Luke Chambers, Alan Judge and Cole Skuse have all departed for pastures new, with there now being more spaces in the current squad freed up for new recruits to make their way into the building.

After missing out on promotion back to the Sky Bet Championship for second season in a row, the Tractor Boys will be hoping that it is a case of it being third time lucky in the upcoming 2021/22 campaign as they look to dramatically improve their performances on the field of play.

The transfer market is now set to go into full swing, with Cook sure to be drawing up a list of targets/

Here, we take a look at NINE free-agents that Ipswich Town should have on their transfer radar and why.

The outgoing AFC Wimbledon striker is now set to depart Plough Lane this summer after taking in arguably the best campaign of his career in a yellow and blue shirt as his goals helped the Dons to remain in League One for yet another year.

Wiry and strong, Pigott is capable of coming up with the goods in various areas of the final third and would add something different to what Ipswich already have up top.

He is a proven goal scorer at this level and is sure to be a player that will interest Cook as he looks to improve his side this summer.

The Sunderland striker is yet to have put pen to paper on a new deal to keep him at the Stadium of Light and as a result he has been strongly linked with a move away from the North East since the turn of the new year.

His goals helped the Black Cats to win the Papa John's Trophy and reach the League One play-offs and he would surely have an equally strong impact for the Tractor Boys if he moved to Portman Road this summer.

The opportunity to sign such a prolific scorer would surely be too hard to turn down for Ipswich.

The attacking midfielder has been told to go elsewhere by Birmingham City and would no doubt fit the sort of profile of player that Ipswich are looking to bring in over the summer months as they to improve the quality of their existing squad.

Crowley enjoyed a decent loan spell with Hull City as the Tigers achieved promotion last season and would surely jump at the chance to join what will be a forward thinking Ipswich Town squad.

He is capable of playing in various positions across midfield and would add some creative flair to proceedings under the guidance of Cook.

The outgoing Gillingham winger is set to leave Priestfield after a brilliant season for the Kent club and he will no doubt be looking to move onto bigger and better things as he looks to reach a higher level in the game.

Ipswich could well match him ambitions for the future, with the Tractor Boys sure to be keen on reaching the play-offs at the very least next term as they look to rebuild this summer.

Talented at taking on his man and drilling in crosses, Graham has also added goals to his game in more recent times and would be a fine addition for Town this summer.

Another player who will be leaving Gillingham this summer for pastures new, Ogilvie is a player who is destined for greater things than the Kent based club could offer and he would be a solid addition for a higher League One or lower Championship club.

Capable of playing at the heart of defence or at left back, the former Tottenham Hotspur youth product would be a fine addition for Cook and co as they look to add quality to their current backline.

Taking advantage of the free agent market over the next few months should be viewed as a positive move by the club and Ogilvie should definitely be on their list of potential targets.

The Portsmouth keeper appears set to leave Fratton Park as the South Coast club looks set to cut costs after missing out on promotion once again, with the Scot looking to find a new challenge.

He was arguably the division's best goalkeeper over the past 12 months and would be a solid addition for Ipswich moving forwards if they looked to improve the quality of talent that they have between the sticks moving forwards into the 2021/22 campaign.

Signing MacGillivray would be a major coup for Cook and co and his past relationship with Portsmouth could well play into his hands this summer.

Another player who could soon be departing Portsmouth this summer is the club's captain Naylor, who could well be keen on finding a new challenge after enduring yet another campaign of frustration on the South Coast.

He would be the leader in the dressing room that Cook would love to have for his side moving forwards and the fact that he will soon be available for next to nothing is sure to appeal to the Tractor Boys.

Combative in the centre of the park and capable of dictating the tempo of proceedings, Naylor would be an ideal addition for Town.

The talented attacking midfielder is almost certain to leave Swindon Town this summer after they were relegated from Sky Bet League One and could soon be making a move to a bigger club after a superb breakthrough season with the Robins and Newport County respectively.

Twine will be wanted by many clubs this summer and Ipswich are sure to be a name in that queue of potential suitors if Cook has anything to do with it.

Capable of scoring spectacular goals and setting up chances on a plate for others, Twine would be an ideal signing for Town as they move into a new era.

Yet another player who is said to be weighing up his future with Sunderland this summer, O'Nien is set to be a free agent at the end of June and may well be tempted to move back down south with Ipswich as they seek to push for promotion next season.

Capable of playing in numerous positions in defence and midfield, the former Wycombe Wanderers man is the ideal utility player who could fill in to great effect for Cook in various areas when injuries occur.

Snapping up a player of his talents on a free is an opportunity that Ipswich surely wouldn't pass up.
