Bolton Wanderers will be looking to put another three points on the board today as they take on Colchester United in Sky Bet League Two.

Ian Evatt's side look a revitalised outfit and haven't lost a single league game since the 23rd of January.

The Trotters have won 11 of their last 13 league games, and have subsequently motored up on the League Two table and put themselves in fourth position.

Evatt will be urging his side to keep this form up as they continue to breathe down the neck of the automatic promotion contenders.

Evatt's signings have been hugely impressive this season. Eoin Doyle can't stop scoring, and the likes of Kieran Lee and MJ Williams have also been inspired additions.

But going back a few years, can you remember any of these signings who turned out to be flops? Here, we take a look at nine of the worst to arrive at Bolton...

Moreno had come through the ranks at Barcelona before going on to play for some big clubs, including the likes of AC Milan and Atletico Madrid.

In January 2004, Moreno left Madrid to join Bolton on loan for the remainder of the season under Sam Allardyce.

But in eight appearances for the club - including a League Cup final appearance against Middlesbrough - he failed to find the back of the net.

The striker subsequently moved on at the end of the season, going on to regain his goalscoring form for the likes of Zaragosa and Cordoba.

It was a move that just failed to work out for him.

After selling Nicolas Anelka to Chelsea for around £15million, Gary Megson was obviously keen to bolster his side's attacking options.

In came Rasiak on loan from Southampton in January 2008, with the Polish striker looking to force his way back into his country's plans for the Euros.

But in only seven appearances for Wanderers, Rasiak failed to find the net, and Megson decided not to sign him up on a permanent basis at the end of the season.

That was perhaps no surprise given how toothless he was in front of goal during his time in Lancashire.

He completely failed to live up to expectations and replace Anelka's goals.

Another striker who completely flattered to deceive under Megson the following year was Ariza Makukula.

Makukula arrived on loan from Portuguese giants Benfica in January 2009, having failed to make an impact in their first-team.

The Portuguese international made six appearances for the Trotters, but failed to score in any of his six outings.

It didn't come as a surprise to see that Bolton didn't turn his move to Lancashire into a permanent one for around £4.5million. He later had spells in Turkey before ending his career.

Sordell was renowned as one of England's brightest talents when he came through the ranks and burst onto the scene at Watford.

In January 2012, Bolton missed out on the signing of Wilfried Zaha, and instead brought in Sordell for around £3million. Quite remarkably, Watford owner Laurence Bassini refunded Bolton a few hundred thousand pounds as he thought they overpaid for the striker.

That ended up being the case. He made only three appearances as Bolton were relegated from the Premier League, and subsequently moved on to Burnley in 2014.

Sordell scored eight goals in 29 games for Bolton in total, and he was another forward who flattered to deceive and failed to live up to expectations.

In a bid to help aid his side's bid for promotion, Dougie Freedman brought in De Ridder on loan from Southampton in January 2013 on an initial one-month loan.

But he returned to the South Coast in March having made three appearances for the club, failing to score or register a single assist.

De Ridder moved to the Netherlands to join Utrecht at the end of the season, bringing his two-year spell at Southampton to an end.

He later had spells with Copenhagen and Lokeren in Denmark and Belgium respectively, and currently plays for Sint-Truiden.

Jardel was a hugely exciting signing for Bolton.

He arrived from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2003 having scored an incredible 59 goals in 56 games for the club.

Despite being a prolific goalscorer in Portugal, he completely failed to replicate that in England with Bolton.

He ended up scoring three goals in 11 appearances for the club, and joined Italian side Ancona on loan before moving to Argentinean outfit Newell's Old Boys in 2004.

Ba was another exciting signing to arrive in the summer of 2003, joining from AC Milan after having loan spells with Perugia and Marseille.

The winger flattered to deceive at Bolton, however, and made his final appearance for the club in a league clash with Chelsea in March 2004.

In total, Ba made nine appearances for the Trotters, and joined Çaykur Rizespor on a one-year deal the following summer.

Ba ended his career back in Milan, and by the time he hung up his boots, he made eight appearances for the French national team.

Another one to forget for Bolton fans.

Having spent eight years with Bordeaux, Cid made the move to Bolton in July 2007 having established himself as a good, experienced player in his native of France.

But the defender failed to cope with English football and produced a number of shaky performances for the Trotters.

In January, only a few months after joining the club, he returned to France and joined Nice on a three-and-a-half year deal, before retiring at the club in 2010.

He was another player who failed to impress under Allardyce and Sammy Lee despite expectations being high at first.

Bülent Akın arrived at Bolton from Galatasaray in July 2002.

The midfielder flattered to deceive at Gala having arrived from Denizilspor in 2000, but did end up winning a UEFA Cup with the Turkish club.

But Akin was to endure a tough time in Lancashire, making only one appearance in the league for Bolton which came against Aston Villa on New Year's Day in 2003.

He was released by Wanderers at the end of the season, and later returned to Turkey to have spells with Akçaabat Sebatspor and then Gençlerbirliği.
