Chuba Akpom is having quite the nightmare at Championship outfit Brighton and for perhaps the first time ever, this is an Arsenal youngster that probably wishes he stayed at the Emirates waiting for an opportunity there.

Rated at around £850,000, the young forward has been trying to cut it in the second tier in order to impress under-fire manager Arsene Wenger that he is ready to mix it with the big boys in the Premier League,

But sadly for Akpom, this is a move that might have sent his career backwards, rather than forwards.

Brighton nabbed the 21-year-old on loan after he had a decent spell with Hull City last season and as we've seen on the pitch this campaign, Chris Hughton rarely gets things wrong.

But the signing of Akpom has been a poor one and after ineffective substitute appearances, Hughton was forced to start Akpom and after just 58 minutes, 12 touches and zero shots, it was all over for the Arsenal loanee.

The Amex faithful weren't at all impressed and when Tomer Hemed took his place, there were cheers on the terraces on the South Coast.

This is certainly a player who has been poor for the entire season and hasn't at all showed the potential that we've seen in the past.

For Akpom, these could be very uncertain times indeed. If he can, he really needs to start stepping up and showing what he's all about or he might be outcast from two teams in one season.
