It was an impressive afternoon’s work for West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, with Darren Moore’s side turning on the style to beat Queens Park Rangers 7-1 at the Hawthorns.

The Baggies finally seem to be finding their feet back in the second-tier, with the rest of the Championship sure to be taking note of Moore’s side following Saturday’s emphatic performance.

One of West Brom’s standout performers was Matt Phillips, who again showed his class going forward.

The winger is the latest feature of our FLW Spotlight:

Phillips completed 90 minutes of Saturday’s contest, with his performance proving to be so clinical, with the winger scoring two goals from his two shots at goal.

Added to that, there was one successful dribble from the 27-year-old, who also completed three crosses in the 90 minutes.

In possession, Phillips was also very tidy, finishing with an 85% pass success rate.

The Verdict

Phillips was exceptional on Saturday, with his finishing very clinical when West Brom needed it.

Of course, it was one-way traffic after half-time at the Hawthorns on Saturday, but Phillips was key to Moore’s side turning on the style against QPR.

It’s a long season, but West Brom are finding their best now, with Phillips looking comfortable back in the second-tier.

If Moore’s side are going to be in the mix for automatic promotion, they need Phillips to keep this up across the season.

The 27-year-old was impressive on Saturday, but the West Brom faithful will want to see even more from the winger.
