Charlton have had a surprisingly good start to their Championship season as they have returned with bundles of energy since promotion from League One.

They've been mightily impressive and have picked up some fantastic results, that their supporters are rightly over the moon about.

The Addicks have already beaten sides such as Leeds United and Derby at the Valley as they bid to make their home a fortress.

Lee Bowyer has been a massive part of Charlton's fine few years, and has built a team that isn't necessarily full of star names, but one that has an abundance of effort and attitude in the way that they play.

One of the players that has been brought in from West Ham United on loan is midfielder Josh Cullen. He was also at the club during the last campaign where he performed fantastically to help the Addicks get promotion to the Championship.

Cullen has been a brilliant loan signing for the Addicks and has gone massively under the radar, due to the unbelievable performances of his team-mate Conor Gallagher.

His statistics speak for himself and he's shown that he can cut it at this level, meaning that West Ham might see potential in the 23-year-old to go on and have a successful career in the Premier League.

For an energetic athletic central-midfielder, his passing is very good to watch. A lot of the time he keeps it simple, but he's had a 85.9% pass accuracy so far this season which is excellent for this division and shows that he can make the step up.

It's not just through his passing, one of the key statistics that he possesses is his interceptions. He's already made 47 so far this season, which means that other players around have the licence to get forward knowing that he is able to clear up the majority of the danger going the other way.

In terms of defensive duels, Cullen has won 73.5% of his, which is again another high amount for a player in his position. He has the ability to be a pivotal part in this Charlton side for a long time, and if West Ham do look to sell in the future then they may find themselves with a bidding war on for the midfielder.

He is crucial to their season, and deserves more credit from pundits, because without him there is a massive void to fill.
