Birmingham City suffered a fourth successive away defeat in the Championship on Saturday against Cardiff City as Neil Warnock's side claimed all three points in front of their own supporters.
Having entered the clash brimming with confidence after beating Luton Town at St Andrew's last weekend, the Blues made a cracking start as Kristian Pedersen netted his second goal in as many games in the third minute of the game.
However, after Jude Bellingham and Lukas Jutkiewicz both squandered great chances to extend Birmingham's advantage, Cardiff levelled up proceedings as Joe Ralls fired home from the penalty spot.
The Bluebirds then took the lead as Curtis Nelson bundled home.
Despite being reduced to ten-men following the break, Cardiff added a third in the 69th minute as Ralls curled a wonderful effort past goalkeeper Lee Camp.
Whilst Ivan Sunjic reduced Birmingham's deficit in the closing stages of the game at the Cardiff City Stadium, their hopes of securing a draw were virtually ended after Harlee Dean was sent-off by referee Andy Madley.
Ralls completed his hat-trick in stoppage-time to seal a 4-2 victory for the Bluebirds which saw them move up to 14th in the Championship standings.
Dan Crowley, who joined Birmingham for an undisclosed fee in the summer from Dutch side Willem II (via BBC Sport), produced a mixed display in the Welsh capital.

Whilst the midfielder did manage to illustrate some occasional signs of promise, his decision making in the final-third was not as good as it could have been.
Here, in our latest spotlight article, we assess whether Crowley is demonstrating his best ability for the Blues by taking a closer look at his statistics from Saturday's clash with Cardiff.
Selected to feature on the right-hand side of midfield by Birmingham caretaker head coach Pep Clotet, Crowley played 81 minutes of action against Cardiff before being replaced by Odin Bailey.
During his time on the field, the midfielder illustrated an unerring level of composure whilst in possession of the ball as he recorded a pass success rate of 84%.
Having provided his team-mates with 15 forward passes, Crowley would have been relatively disappointed that he didn't end the clash with an assist or two.
Yet considering that he has already provided three direct goal contributions this season, there is no reason why the 22-year-old cannot go on to achieve a relative amount of success at St Andrew's if he continues to take risks.
Although Crowley completed five successful dribbles against Cardiff, he was unable to score from any of his attacking moves as he registered 0 shots on target.
Whilst it is fair to say that the former Arsenal man was extremely unlucky not to notch his first goal of the season in the first-half having seen an effort hit the inside of the post, it is nevertheless imperative that he improves his finishing over the coming months.
Given that Crowley also won just 59% of his total duels during the game, it could be argued that he has yet to fully adjust to life in the Championship following several years in the Netherlands.
