Charlton have hit a worrying run of results over the last couple of months and are looking to strengthen throughout the January transfer window.

One player that they have been linked to is Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty who they'd look to bring in on a loan deal until the end of the campaign.

The youngster hasn't featured much for Steven Gerrard's side over the past season, and it would be a move that would help the player develop as he gets older.

At 23-years-old he wants to be playing first-team football, and Charlton are in desperate need for a player who can fit into the midfield after Conor Gallagher was recalled by Chelsea earlier in the week.

Docherty could add some fresh legs to the side and his statistics in the matches that he has featured in for Charlton are pretty impressive. He's managed to keep an 83% pass accuracy on average which is a very good amount for a centre-midfielder, that would be impressive ready for any Championship player.

Alongside that, he's shown that he's not afraid of battling for anything in the air. He's won 80% of his aerial duels which will fit in well with Lee Bowyer's attitude go doing for everything in fixtures.

Alongside these impressive percentages, he has shown that going forward he can support the attack. In just 182 minutes this season he's managed to get two assists and achieve a 75% cross accuracy which means that the Addicks will instantly see an improvement in creativity when in the attacking third.

It would be a deal that would work out best for both parties. Docherty would earn some much needed playing time and potentially start to think about forging a career outside of Scotland, whilst Charlton would gain a hungry midfielder that is aiming to prove himself as a professional.

If it does go through then he's sure to be given a chance by Bowyer as Charlton are still plagued with injuries.
