Bristol City have enjoyed a largely positive start to their Championship campaign, with Lee Johnson's side currently sitting comfortably in sixth place after eleven games played so far this season.

The former Oldham Athletic manager will no doubt be looking for his side to continue a brilliant run of form that has seen them go the last ten league games unbeaten, in a run which has put them in early contention for the promotion places, in what has been a lightning start.

Johnson of course strengthened his squad significantly during the summer transfer window, with no less than fourteen new additions coming through the door at Ashton Gate, with the most notable additions coming in the form of Chelsea centre half Tomas Kalas and AS Monaco midfielder Han-Noah Massengo.

It is Massengo who has attracted a wide amount of attention this season, with the 18-year-old Frenchman having put in a number of assured displays in the heart of the Robins' midfield, thus leading to recent a recent report by Bristolpost.co.uk, which states that Premier League giants Arsenal have been scouting the midfielder recently.

With that in mind, we have decided to make the French midfielder's statistics so far this season, the subject of our latest FLW Spotlight piece....

Massengo has established himself almost immediately at Bristol City, with the 18-year-old ball-winner having already appeared in nine of the Ashton Gate outfit's league games, in which he has already registered an impressive 81% pass success rate during the opening weeks of the season.

The midfielder is not known for being much of a playmaker in terms of dictating the play in central areas, with the former Monaco man having only recorded an average of 32.7 passes per game, suggesting that he is more comfortable in a role that requires him to break up the play.

Which is shown further, by the fact that he also averages 0.9 interceptions and 0.7 tackles per game, however, these are definitely numbers he and his manager would like to see an improvement on if the Robins are to continue their early season form into the coming months.

It is understandable that Arsenal are reportedly interested in the youngster, with the Gunners having longed for a midfield presence who can win the ball back and start attacks ever since the departures of Patrick Vieira and latterly, Gilberto Silva.

It remains to be seen if the Premier League side will make their perceived interest a reality in the coming months, however, both the Bristol City faithful and Johnson will be hoping they can hold onto the services of the 18-year-old for a good while longer.
