Ipswich Town have enjoyed an excellent start to the season, with Paul Lambert's side unbeaten in their opening eleven league matches and sitting on top of the League One table, having picked up 27 points already this term.

The Tractor Boys have produced an excellent response to their relegation from the Championship last season, with Lambert making some crucial additions in the summer window, as well as managing to re-focus the players, helping turn around the losing mentality that had overwhelmed the club last campaign.

One player who has been key to Ipswich's fine start to the campaign has been Alan Judge, with the attacker enjoying a resurgence at Portman Road, managing to recover from injury troubles that have affected the last few years of his career, and registering two assists in nine appearances this term.

Judge's ability to drive forwards with the ball in possession and get the Tractor Boys up the pitch swiftly on the counter, has been vital in helping Ipswich create space in the final third of the pitch and create problems for the opposition, with the 30-year-old averaging 2.37 dribbles per match so far this term.

The Republic of Ireland international has also produced some effective end product following his driving runs, with Judge averaging 4.98 crosses per game so far this campaign, which is providing plenty of quality service for the likes of James Norwood and Kayden Jackson to thrive off - and the pair have both been in fine form themselves netting five and six goals so far respectively.

The creative midfielder has also been key in helping Ipswich retain possession and build attacks through the thirds, with the 30-year-old averaging a 81.5% passing accuracy so far this term, which is impressive considering a number of those passes have been made higher up the pitch meaning he is usually under pressure.

Judge, has also averaged a 48.8% long pass accuracy, which demonstrates his ability to get the ball forwards quickly up to Ipswich's other attacking players, which is vital to catch other teams out on the counter-attack, when they have committed men forwards.

One thing which Lambert is demanding from his players this season is work rate, and Judge has shown his ability to help Ipswich's defence when they have lost possession with the 30-year-old making 1.66 interceptions per game, which enables him to both cut out opposing attacks and also help to get the Tractors Boys going forwards on the transition.

Given his form so far this season, Judge could well be an integral player for Ipswich's prospects of managing to earn promotion straight back to the Championship this season, and he will need to stay injury free to help Lambert's side build on their excellent start to the campaign.
