After their convincing relegation from the Premier League last season, Fulham have arrived back in the Championship with the bit between their teeth.

Their return to the top table of English football was supposed to signal an end to their time in the second-tier for good, with Slavisa Jokanovic's side impressing on their way to play-off glory in 2018, but now they must repeat, or better, the feat.

With Scott Parker now at the helm, he has wasted no time in assembling a squad that has rightfully made them favourites to win promotion.

He has tied star striker Aleksandr Mitrovic down to a new long-term deal and brought in two proven Championship wingers.

Ivan Cavaleiro has arrived on loan from Wolves, with a view to a permanent deal, after tearing up the second-tier two seasons ago, whilst Anthony Knockeart recently completed a similar move from Brighton.

He was an essential cog in Chris Hughton's promotion-winning side of 2017, racking up 15 goals and nine assists, and clearly knows the Championship very well.

But what of his previous campaign in the top-flight?

Only a fool would dispute the clear step-up in quality between the Championship and the Premier League.

Whilst the second-tier continues to grow stronger and stronger each season, the Prem does the same but at an accelerated rate.

These are factors worth remembering when considering the Frenchman's previous campaign.

Two goals will have undoubtedly proved an underwhelming tally for someone who was a predominant attacking threat at the AMEX in the second-tier.

However, six assists remains an admirable total and only three fewer than he managed in the Championship.

A pass accuracy of just under 80% is incredibly good for a winger as well and when all this is looked at through the lense of a side who were battling relegation, it starts to look all the more impressive, whilst just over three interceptions per game shows that he more than played his part in a defensive sense as well.

An average of just over one shot per game is out of character for a player who had so much confidence in the second tier and rediscovering that swagger could be Parker's most important job.

But if he does, there is no doubt that he has one of the best winger's in the second-tier on his hands.

His Premier League assist stats show that Aleksandr Mitrovic could have a very fruitful season and his pass accuracy shows that he is still a man of unerring accuracy.

Will anyone be able to stop Fulham this season?
