A big summer awaits Nathan Jones at Stoke City, as the Welshman looks to reshape his squad ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

The Potters endured a hugely tough campaign last time out. A campaign that promised so much delivered so little, and ultimately, their season culminated in a disappointing 16th placed finish.

Now, Jones will be looking to stamp his authority on the club and make his squad his own this summer, however there are still some very high-profile, talented names still on the club’s books left by previous manager Gary Rowett.

Tom Ince was one of many high-profile signings brought to the club last summer, arriving from Huddersfield Town for a reported fee of £10million.

In previous years, Ince had established himself as one of the more dangerous players in the league, shining for Derby County and Blackpool, but he somewhat flattered to deceive at times last season.

With a summer overhaul on the cards at the bet365 Stadium, we take a look at whether Ince should be a regular starter for the Potters next season...

In 38 Championship apperances, Ince scored six goals for Stoke last season, adding a further seven assists to his game under both Rowett and Jones.

Those strikes came from an average of 2.7 shots per game, with the electric winger also picking out an average of 1.2 key passes per game.

In total, the former Huddersfield man accrued a pass success rate of 80.9% from 27.6 passes per game, therefore it's quite clear to see why he amassed so many assists last time out.

Even in what was a bitterly underwhelming season for Stoke, Ince still managed to record some pretty decent statistics, and with a full pre-season under his belt, he could be a real asset for Jones' side next season.

It remains to be seen whether Jones sticks with his trusted narrow diamond formation which served him so well at Luton, but playing in behind the striker could be an influential role for Ince.
