Football is dominated by statistics, with the amount of possession a side enjoys regularly used as a measure of their success in playing the 'beautiful game'.

Here though we look at the current eight WORST sides in the Championship for possession, using data supplied by Whoscored.

Despite having the eighth worst rating for possession in the Championship, it has not affected the Addicks start to the season, with Lee Bowyer's side in sixth place just two points off the league leaders.

Bristol City are next on our list and are another side whose poor possession figures do not relate to their league position, with Lee Johnson's side in eighth spot only three points off top, with only one defeat in the league so far this season.

The season may only be seven weeks old, but already Sheffield Wednesday are onto their second manager with Garry Monk now at the helm at Hillsborough and things are looking up with the Owls up to seventh in the league and unbeaten in three.

Hull City are next in our list, with Grant McCann's side struggling early on with only two wins from nine played and currently down in 16th spot in the Championship.

High flying Nottingham Forest are another side whose league form is nor reflected in their overall possession figures, with Sabri Lamouchi's side unbeaten in eight matches and currently third in the Championship.

Cardiff City come next, with Neil Warnock's side enjoying a steady start to the season unbeaten in six and currently 12th in the Championship.

So next we have the second worse side in the Championship for possession and that goes to Birmingham City, who are mid table following a mixed start to the season with four wins, four defeats and one draw in the league.

We now arrive at the side who are worse in the Championship for possession and that accolade goes to Millwall who are well clear at the bottom of our table with a possession of 40.6%.

Neil Harris' side have struggled so far this season and are down in 18th place in the table, nine points off top spot and only four above the relegation zone.
