Sheffield United look the side to watch in the coming weeks with them running on rails at the moment in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Blades have been in fine form this season and after last year's tailing off, they look fitter and stronger than ever.

Clearly, Chris Wilder and co. have learned a great deal from last campaign and ahead of a huge Steel City derby in the coming days, confidence will be high.

They're on an upward trajectory, then, and many of the players at the club have the chance to become heroes if they can get the side back into the Premier League.

In the meantime, though, we're taking a look back at some footballers who you might have forgotten played for the Red and White Wizards.

Here is a list of eight...

[snack_break title="James Wallace"]

Wallace was at the club for some time but could not muster many appearances.

He had a couple of loans at Shrewsbury and Tranmere and now finds himself at Fleetwood Town.

[snack_break title="Michael O'Halloran"]

O'Halloran played on loan for the Blades from Bolton and made a handful of appearances for the club.

The midfielder is now at St Johnstone after periods with the likes of Rangers.

[snack_break title="Arturo Lupoli"]

The Italian striker was on the books at Arsenal as a young player but could not make the grade there.

He spent a loan spell at Sheffield United, though, but did not earn a permanent move from Fiorentina.

[snack_break title="David Edgar"]

The Canadian has Premier League appearances under his belt and spent a season with the Blades where he featured often.

He wasn't there long, though, and is now back home with Ottawa Fury.

[snack_break title="Jason Holt"]

Holt is another former Blade who played for Rangers afterwards and he is now with Joey Barton at Fleetwood.

He was on loan at the Blades from Hearts and scored a handful from the middle of the park.

[snack_break title="Otis Khan"]

Khan is a good young player but he did also make an appearance or two for the Blades when starting out.

They took him from Manchester United and brought him through but he is now at Mansfield Town.

[snack_break title="Florent Cuvelier"]

The Belgian was at the club from 2013-2016 but did not feature overly much for the Blades.

He's had a few clubs despite being only 26 and left Morecambe in the January window.

[snack_break title="Chris O'Grady"]

O'Grady was at the club on loan from Brighton but he did not play much.

The striker now finds himself at Oldham United in Leauge Two.
