Luton Town could be set for an interesting summer transfer window ahead, with the Hatters being set to prepare for another year in the Championship.

Nathan Jones' side are currently sat 13th in the second-tier standings, and have shown glimpses of their quality at times during the 2020/21 season.

A number of players are out-of-contract in the summer, which could result in the club looking to move some of them on in the near future, as they look to make room for potential new arrivals ahead of the new league campaign.

There are plenty of options for the club to target ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, although they'll surely know that there will be interest from other clubs in some of their potential transfer targets.

We take a look at EIGHT players who Luton Town could potentially target in the summer transfer window ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is currently with Luton Town, and has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances for the Hatters this term.

Dewsbury-Hall has made 36 appearances in total for Nathan Jones' side in all competitions this season, and the majority of the Kenilworth Road faithful will be hoping that he can stick around for another season, having been on loan from Leicester City.

The midfielder has recently admitted that he would be welcome to a return to Luton Town in the future, which will be pleasing to hear for the club's supporters.

Dewsbury-Hall could potentially be the player that Nathan Jones looks to build his squad around for future seasons.

Josh Bowler is currently with Everton, but is out-of-contract at the end of the 2020/21 season, which could see him depart in the summer.

Bowler had previously been on the books with Hull City in a loan spell with the Tigers, but has been with the Toffees in this year's campaign, although he is yet to feature for their first-team.

It wouldn't come as a surprise to see Bowler heading for the exit door at Goodison Park in the summer, as the Toffees already have some strong options in similar positions moving forward.

He could be worth the punt for Luton Town ahead of the 2021/22 season, as they could benefit from signing a player with a potentially bright future ahead of him.

Dion Charles is likely to be a player attracting significant transfer interest heading into the summer, with the Accrington Stanley forward catching the eye with a number of strong performances this term.

Charles has scored 18 goals in 44 appearances for the League One side, and is reportedly being eyed by the likes of Huddersfield Town and Derby County over a potential deal in the summer.

If Accrington Stanley aren't to win promotion into the Championship this season, then it wouldn't come as a surprise to see him move on.

Luton Town could certainly benefit from signing a player of his quality, especially when James Collins' contract is set to expire at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Shane Ferguson is out-of-contract with Millwall at the end of the 2020/21 season, and he could be looking for a new club ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

The Northern Irishman has made 217 appearances in total for the Lions this term, and has found regular game time hard to come by for much of the season.

Therefore, it wouldn't come as a surprise to see him heading for the exit door in the coming months, and Luton Town would be foolish not to consider a move for Ferguson.

He's a player that has experience of playing in the Championship in the past, and could prove to be a shrewd addition for the Hatters.

Adrian Mariappa is another player that Luton Town could potentially target ahead of the 2021/22 season, with the Jamaican international being out-of-contract at the end of this year's campaign.

The central defender has made 25 appearances for Bristol City this season, after signing a short-term deal with the Robins earlier this term.

He has previously played for the likes of Reading, Watford and Crystal Palace earlier in his career, and he'll be looking to play his football at the highest possible level in the future.

Sonny Bradley has previously been linked with a move away from Luton Town, and the Hatters could be making a solid signing if Mariappa was to hit the ground running at Kenilworth Road.

Sone Aluko is out-of-contract with Reading at the end of the 2020/21 season, and is likely to be looking for a new club ahead of next year's campaign.

The winger has previously caught the eye with some impressive performances for the likes of Hull City and Fulham earlier in his career, but has struggled to make a notable impact with the Royals.

Aluko has made 100 appearances in total for Reading, but has scored just five goals in total for the Berkshire-based side. You would imagine that he'll feel as though he has a point to prove in the Championship.

He could do just that with Luton Town next season, although his wage demands could potentially be a stumbling block to any potential move.

Matt Penney is next up, with the Sheffield Wednesday full-back being out-of-contract at the end of this year's campaign.

Penney has been with the club since 2006, and has made 32 appearances in total for the Owls' first-team, despite struggling for consistent minutes this season with Darren Moore's side.

The full-back has been restricted to just 15 appearances in total for Sheffield Wednesday this season, and could be tempted by a move elsewhere, with the Owls looking as though they're set to be relegated into the third-tier of English football this term.

Penney could be tempted by a move to Luton Town, as you would imagine that they'll be able to offer him game time.

Olosunde has put in some strong performances for Rotherham United this season, although his efforts haven't quite been enough to see the Millers pull clear of the relegation zone at this moment in time.

The defender has been a regular for Paul Warne's side this term, but is out-of-contract at the end of this year's campaign, which could result in him leaving the Yorkshire-based club.

Luton Town have a number of players that are out-of-contract in the summer and they could move some of them on in the summer transfer window.

A potential reshuffle could be in place at Kenilworth Road, and Olosunde could be the ideal option to have in the heart of their defence moving forwards.
