Daniels was a Jackett signing in January, having spent the first half of the season at league rivals Shrewsbury.
It was a big drop down from Daniels’ last taste of regular football – he made 21 appearances in the Premier League for Bournemouth in the 2018/19 season but with his advancing years, the left-back had to drop down the leagues in search of game-time.
The 34-year-old has started just one of the six games that Cowley has been in charge in, coming off the bench in three others but it does look like Lee Brown is his first choice in that position.
Will Daniels settle for being a back-up at this stage in his career? Or will he even get offered a new deal at the end of the season? Time will tell, but he still has a wand of a left foot and he deserves to be playing football in his final years.
