Things are finally starting to look up for Bolton Wanderers.

The last few years have been nothing short of a disaster for the Trotters after going to the brink of extinction before dropping through the divisions as a result.

However this term things are getting back on track.

Ian Evatt has done a wonderful job of building a side who are firmly in contention for promotion back to League One.

A large part of that success has been the club's recruitment which has seen players arrive on short-term deals to help them avoid major financial committments.

As a result a number of players are out of contract this summer, but who are these players?

Here are eight who face uncertain futures with Bolton Wanderers.

The experienced defender is one of the higher profile players to face an uncertain future.

Baptiste moved back to Bolton Wanderers in August 2020 after five years away from the club as he looked to help the team in their climb up the divisions.

So far this term the 35-year-old has made 37 appearances for the Trotters, establishing himself as a key player.

His contract will expire at the end of the season which means that his future at the club is in doubt.

But based on his performances this term there's every chance that Bolton could look to extend his contract for another year.

Another who has been a key player for the club this term.

Isgrove moved to Lancashire in September last year after spells with Southampton, Barnsley and Swindon Town who he left last summer.

The 28-year-old has been a first team regular under Ian Evatt after making 27 appearances for the club in League Two.

During that time he's scored three times and created two more for his teammates as they battle to secure promotion to the third tier.

It'll be interesting to see if he's offered a new deal with the club.

The defender is surely a contender to move on this summer.

Mascoll moved to Bolton last year after leaving Wycombe Wanderers following a disappointing year at Adams Park.

This term the defender was limited to just nine cameo appearances with the Trotters before being allowed to leave the club on loan in the January transfer window.

Since then he's been playing for Irish side Waterford where he has made a handful of appearances.

With his contract ticking down it seems unlikely that Mascoll will be a contender to have his contract renewed given his lack of impact at first team level.

The experienced goalkeeper was quite a signing last summer.

Gilks arrived at the club after a successful career with the likes of Rochdale, Blackpool and Scunthorpe United where he became one of the EFL's most decorated players.

The 38-year-old moved to the club as a player-goalkeeping coach which means that his impact has been felt both on and off the pitch.

Since then Gilks has made 30 appearances for the club and conceded a rather impressive 28 goals in that time.

A new contract will surely depend on whether he plans to retire, but with that record I'm sure that fans would like him to play on for one more year.

The jury is out on whether the 30-year-old will be offered a new contract.

Tutte joined the club last year after successful spells with Rochdale, Bury and Morecambe where he had spent a mixed two seasons.

Since moving to Bolton midfielder has had a frustrating time.

After playing regularly in the first half of the campaign, Tutte has struggled to make the side in recent months with him often being used as substitute.

That means that the 30-year-old probably has work to do to convince Ian Evatt that he's deserving of a new deal.

Another player who has endured a frustrating campaign.

Miller joined the club in 2020 after spending two years with Crewe Alexandra where he struggled to establish himself as a regular first team player.

Unfortunately the experienced striker has suffered a similar fate with Bolton.

Miller has made 20 appearances so far this season but with just one of them coming in the starting XI it perhaps tells a tale of how he's rated at the club.

He has scored a couple of crucial goals but it remains to be seen whether that's enough to earn a new deal.

The Irish defender has enjoyed a decent campaign.

Delaney joined the club in 2020 after two years with Rochdale and had a great first half of the season where he made 23 appearances for the club.

His last appearance came in January when he suffered a serious facial injury. He hasn't featured for the club since.

The 24-year-old did return to the bench for the clash with Salford City this week and it'll be interesting to see how much he features in the weeks ahead.

Based on his performances earlier this season there's a good chance he might earn a new deal.

Another player who is out of contract this summer.

Arthur Gnahoua joined the club last year after leaving Macclesfield Town and has certainly played his part this term.

The 28-year-old has played 27 times for the club, scoring three goals and creating five more for the Trotters as they push for promotion from League Two.

Gnahoua has started just six times in the league this season which could be a deterrent in offering him a new deal but he'll certainly be hoping that he can prove his worth in the final weeks of the season.
