8 of the most underwhelming Swansea City signings from recent times – Where are they now?

In recent years, Swansea City have seen their time in the Premier League come to an end after a seven-year stint – which came after a climb up the EFL pyramid that included three promotions in the space of six years.

Since dropping out of the top flight in 2018, the South Wales outfit have been trying to get back to where they once were, firstly under the management of Graham Potter, before he headed to Brighton & Hove Albion and was replaced by Steve Cooper.

Cooper’s time in charge saw two Championship play-off finishes and one final loss at Wembley before his exit, and the 2021-22 campaign was one of rebuilding under Russell Martin, who is trying to piece together a squad that can play effectively in his style of football.

There has been some smart recruitment – both in the loan market and in permanent deals – in recent years, but there’s also been signings that failed to deliver the goods when expected.

Let’s look at eight individuals that underwhelmed supporters of the Swans during their time at the club.
