Peterborough put a host of Championship clubs on alert after revealing that Marcus Maddison has been put on the transfer list.

The attacking midfielder has starred for the Posh over the past few years, establishing himself as one of the best players in the third tier.

Despite that, Peterborough have managed to keep hold of their star asset until now, allowing him the chance to further his career after they failed to win promotion.

Leeds United are one side who have been interested previously in the player and he would be a great addition to the Whites squad, as our graphic shows.

Even though Paul Heckingbottom has the likes of Samuel Saiz and Pablo Hernandez to choose from in the attacking midfield position, Leeds still need more goals in their side.

Maddison has proven himself capable of scoring goals and his levels of productivity just get better with his assists.

Obviously, it has to be taken into account that it's in the third tier but at just 24-years old he has a lot of time to improve and there should be few doubts about his capability to play in the Championship.

Additionally, having spent the last few years in League One he will be accustomed to the physical and robust nature of English football so won't be surprised with the demands.

The same couldn't be said for a lot of Leeds' foreign summer signings who struggled to adapt last year.

Ultimately, there needs to be significant changes made at Elland Road in the summer and bringing in young, talented players seems a great way to go - so Maddison fits the bill.
