8 goals, 12 assists: Why West Ham must have this man for 2018/19

Despite their setback against QPR on Tuesday, Aston Villa are still in contention for an automatic promotion spot and will look to get back to winning ways against Bolton this weekend.

Steve Bruce’s men have been in fine form since the turn of the year, winning nine of their 12 games in 2018.

However, they are currently seven points behind Cardiff City in second, so will need to win the majority of their remaining games to stand a chance of breaking in the top-two.

Should that happen, Robert Snodgrass will be key and will have to maintain the consistency he has shown in recent months.

The Scotland international has really stepped up for the West Midlands side on their great run, which will no doubt have caught the attention of parent-club West Ham, who are struggling in the Premier League.

David Moyes was supposedly keen on bringing Snodgrass back to London in January, but the 30-year old remained at Villa Park, much to the delight of fans.

Yet, no permanent deal has been agreed for next season and the Hammers must be considering using the former Hull man in their first-team.

Snodgrass has been pivotal for Villa, with eight goals and 12 assists, showing just how much he offers in the final third, whilst his ability on set-pieces is a major threat for Bruce’s men.

He has also impressed with his work-rate and determination to help the team. That, combined with the undoubted technical ability, would certainly benefit a West Ham side that look low on leaders and quality at the minute.

So, even though Snodgrass endured a tough beginning with the Premier League side, he has shown this season what he can do if given time and West Ham would be mad not to bring him back into the setup, no matter what division they are in.
