Bournemouth finished the season with great success having earned promotion back to the Premier League.

Scott Parker arrived in the summer with the task of bringing the club into the top flight having failed to bounce straight back into the division on the first attempt.

But second time was the charm for the Cherries as the former Fulham boss earned a 2nd place finish with the team.

The result was secured with a momentous 1-0 victory over promotion rival Nottingham Forest at the Vitality Stadium, with Kieffer Moore scoring the crucial goal.

Eddie Howe previously managed the club in the Premier League from 2015 to 2020.

Parker will only be the second permanent manager to lead the team in the top flight since the dawn of the Premier League era in 1992.

But it will be a challenge to avoid relegation back to the Championship.

Here are eight players the club could realistically target this summer transfer window to aid their survival bid…

Bowler’s contract with Blackpool was extended for 12 months with an option clause held by the Tangerines.

However, a deal could still be struck to bring the winger to Bournemouth this summer which would make for a good addition to Parker’s side.

The 23-year old has been a standout player for Neil Critchley’s side this season, scoring seven goals and earning three assists as the team finished 16th in the table.

A move to the Premier League would be a fine reward for his form this year.

Gyokeres is considered one of Coventry City’s best players and for good reason. The Swede bagged 17 goals and five assists for the Sky Blues having made the switch from Swansea City 18 months ago.

The 24-year old has gone from strength to strength under Mark Robins and would make for a great option to go with Moore and Dominic Solanke in the team.

Bournemouth will need goals to stay up, and Gyokeres could provide plenty.

Brereton Diaz has been exceptional for Blackburn Rovers this season and could be another option Bournemouth look to in order to add more goals to the team.

The Chile international scored an impressive 22 goals for Tony Mowbray’s side in the Championship this season as they finished 8th in the table.

He is ready for the step up to the top flight and could provide healthy competition for Solanke up front if brought into the team this summer.

While Travers has performed well in goals for the Cherries, there is a sense that an upgrade between the sticks could be needed in the Premier League.

The club would need to find a sure-thing replacement to warrant benching the Irishman, but Pope represents that in spades.

The Burnley man has excellent credentials having been a key player for the Clarets in recent years, with his form even earning him caps for the England national side.

Rothwell’s contract situation at Blackburn has yet to be decided, but he could be available as a free agent this summer if he chooses to depart Ewood Park.

Bournemouth would be a no-brainer destination for the next step in the midfielder’s career.

The 27-year old is ready to make the step up to the Premier League, with his performances for Rovers showing his talents.

This would be a very solid piece of squad-building if the Cherries could pull off this move.

The Bristol City youngster has been a revelation for Nigel Pearson’s side this campaign. The 22-year old would be a great addition to the Bournemouth team.

Semenyo has proven he is ready to step up having bagged eight goals and 12 assists in the league for the Robins.

The Ghanaian has gone from strength to strength in his time at Ashton Gate and now is the time to move to a team higher up the football pyramid.

Aarons would be a great upgrade on the current Bournemouth full back situation.

While Jack Stacey has stepped up well in the Championship, Aarons would represent a proper Premier League standard.

The Norwich player is experienced in the top flight and has been one of the Canaries’ top performers in an otherwise dismal year for the club.

The 26-year old could assert himself as first choice right-back with ease and would be a perfect fit for Parker’s attacking possession-heavy style.

Cabango has proven himself as a top centre-back in the division since breaking through at Swansea City in recent years.

It was a disappointing campaign under Russell Martin as the team only managed a 15th place finish.

The Welshman is capable of competing at a higher level and Bournemouth could use the extra defensive strength.

This would be a smart, if expensive, signing and would strengthen the team’s defence.

Cabango is also comfortable on the ball which would suit the team’s style of play.
