Blackpool have had a season of ups and downs under Neil Critchley this campaign.

The Tangerines are currently 16th in the Championship table with only a few games remaining.

Considering this is the club’s first season back in the second division in six years, the team has performed well against fierce and tough competition.

An emphatic 6-1 win over Birmingham City on Easter Bank Holiday Monday was the perfect game to cap off what has been a difficult last few weeks for the team.

That victory ended a run of five games without a win in the league.

Those results effectively ended any chance the team had of competing for the play-off places this season.

But to only be 10 points off 6th place with three games left to play is a sign of the massive progress the club has made in recent years.

However, here we look at eight players who could depart Bloomfield Road this summer…

The 23-year old joined the club in 2021 on a one-year deal that is now set to expire at the end of the season.

Bowler has been an important part of Critchley’s side since arriving from Everton last July.

He has appeared 41 times in the Championship, starting 30 times and has contributed seven goals and three assists.

Considering he is soon set to become a free agent, as well as his good performances for the side, a switch is most certainly on the cards this summer.

Madine has been with the side since 2020 having joined from Cardiff City on an initial two-year contract.

That deal is set to expire at the end of this summer which means he could be available as a free agent in the transfer window.

The 31-year old has plenty of Championship experience and could be a valuable addition to any second division side.

Madine has played 32 times for the Tangerines in the league so far this season, starting 25 games.

Anderson also arrived at Bloomfield Road in 2020, signing to the club from Swindon Town, where he spent two years.

The 27-year old’s contract is set to expire in June of this year so will be available as a free agent unless an agreement is reached between the player and the club in the next few weeks.

The former Crystal Palace forward has played 30 Championship games for the side so far this season, contributing four goals and four assists to Critchley’s team.

Ward’s time at Blackpool could be coming to an end soon as his contract is set to expire in June.

In three seasons for the Tangerines, the midfielder has played in 45 league games for the club, most of which came in the promotion campaign last year.

But with only four appearances to his name this season, perhaps his time at Bloomfield Road will be coming to a close with no extension agreement in sight.

The former Irish international has had a successful first season with Blackpool since joining from MK Dons at the start of the season.

But the 35-year old only arrived on a one-year contract that is now set to expire in the next few weeks.

Keogh has played an important role both on and off the pitch having become a leader of the team given his vast experience.

The defender has also played 26 times in the Championship this campaign and has shown that he can still contribute to a side playing at this level.

Moore has firmly been second choice goalkeeper since arriving at Blackpool in 2020.

The 27-year old has two league appearances to his name over the two seasons that he has been with the club.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, it is very likely that he could leave Bloomfield Road permanently in just a few weeks.

While Moore has been dependable on the few times he’s been called upon, it is clear that he will need to move elsewhere to receive ample playing time.

The youngster has been unable to break through into Critchley’s side this season, starting only one game this campaign and making a further two appearances from the bench.

In order to gain experience, the defender may seek a loan move for next season.

Casey will need the playing time to continue his development as a player and to prove to the Blackpool boss that he is ready to receive game time at this level.

Otherwise, a permanent move may need to be on the cards.

Robson has only featured in two Championship games all season, last playing in the side’s recent 1-0 loss to Preston North End.

An unsuccessful season long loan to MK Dons saw him be recalled in January due to injury concerns.

But with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, perhaps a permanent move away from Bloomfield Road will be the best option for all parties involved.

Otherwise, a loan move back to League One could be on the cards to prove to Critchley that he is ready to play at this level.
