Aston Villa are flying along in the Championship at the moment and will certainly be looking to get off to a quick start this weekend.

Indeed, Sunday afternoon sees the men from Villa Park take on their arch-rivals Birmingham City in the latest Second City derby.

With Villa top of the form table, too, they'll be confident they can turn things to their favour from the get-go as well, with Scott Hogan bound to be backing himself to get on the score-sheet.

The former Brentford man has woken up in 2018 for Villa and, ahead of Sunday's clash, it seems only right that we shed the Football League World Spotlight onto the in form striker:

As you can see, we're looking at his last six games solely and in that time he has become the striker Villa thought they had signed last season.

Five goals from eleven shots is a superb return rate no matter what level you're playing at as a striker whilst it is also clear that Hogan's sheer willingness to work hard is finally paying off.

He might have been caught offside six times but that highlights his movement off of the shoulder whilst he's getting stuck in with five fouls and eight aerial duels being won.

Indeed, he's accruing the stats that you'd expect from a classic number 9. Goals, of course, but also stats that show he's getting after every ball, putting a shift in and giving opposing defenders not a moment's rest.

Hogan looks a changed man in 2018 and if these stats continue there's no way he's coming out of the side.
