Bright Osayi-Samuel has broken onto the scene in great fashion for QPR this season and has become an important part of Mark Warburton’s front-line.
In recent weeks, there have been a lot of different rumours flying around about different players moving and coming into QPR, and one that will have worried supporters is hearing about Southampton’s interest in Osayi-Samuel.
The youngster has a bright career ahead of him, and with a Premier League side already interested, there could be potential for the player to leave the club in January if a fair bid came in from Southampton.
The winger has often provided a creative spark that has been missing from the QPR side when Eberechi Eze doesn’t perform. At the start of the season, they often relied on Eze for the innovation in the attacking sense but now, Osayi-Samuel is playing just as good in the final third.
His dribbling skills often light up the stadium and he has a tendency to work back with real desire to help out the full-backs and holding-midfielders in the R’s team.
So far this campaign, he’s managed to score four times and get five assists. Considering he’s just 22-years-old and didn’t start the season in the side, it’s a very encouraging tally and shows that he can do a bit of both when called upon.
Alongside that, his pass accuracy of 79.9% is very good for a winger and shows that more often then not his ball retention is good and he doesn’t make silly passes like some wide midfielders like to do.

As mentioned previously, his desire to work back can sometimes leave him physically out of tune, hence why he’s picked up five yellow cards already this season. This is a high number for a winger, but isn’t too much of a problem unless it turns into red cards.
He now has to keep his head down, and make sure that he doesn’t get swayed by a potential Premier League move. If Southampton were to complete a deal, it would be a good signing that could see them enjoy his talents in the future.
