New Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi has wasted no time in rebuilding his squad ahead of the 2019/20 Championship campaign.

The Tunisian has began to reshape his squad following his arrival on Trentside, with Tiago Silva, Alfa Semedo, Yuri Ribeiro and Aro Muric all putting pen to paper at the City Ground.

With Sammy Ameobi also arriving on a free transfer whilst Martin O’Neill was in charge, Forest have been one of the most active clubs in the summer transfer window thus far, as they look to go one step further in their quest for Premier League football next term.

Now, the Reds have announced their sixth summer signing, with Albert Adomah arriving at the City Ground on a two-year deal.

The 31-year-old signs for the East Midlands club on a free transfer having been released by Aston Villa at the end of last season, despite playing an important role in Dean Smith’s side’s promotion to the top-flight.

Will he be a good addition for Lamouchi’s side? Here, we analyse his statistics from last season in further detail...

Adomah made 39 appearances in the Championship for Villa last season, as they defeated Derby County at Wembley to book their place back in the top-flight of English football.

The winger started 22 times out of those 39 league appearances, scoring four goals for Dean Smith's side and setting up two assists.

Those strikes came from an average of just one shot per game, and due to the way Smith sets up his team, his role out wide involved getting back and helping out in defensive areas, where he completed 1.5 tackles per game.

A creative, direct winger, Adomah's link-up play could be beneficial for his former Villa teammate Lewis Grabban, who ended up as Forest's top goalscorer with 17 strikes last term.

As well as creating 0.7 key passes per game last season, Adomah accrued a total pass success rate of 79.1%, which meant that he fitted in well with Smith's attacking philosophy.

Adomah is likely to battle Sammy Ameobi for a spot out wide, but these stats show that he can still perform at the highest level in the Championship, and he knows how to win promotion to the Premier League having done so with Villa and Middlesbrough.
