Nottingham Forest are one point outside the play-off places and are having a solid season despite making more than 16 signings this summer.

The 17th addition was made earlier in November when Karim Ansarifard made the move to the City Ground to round off the incomings from Aitor Karanka as his side continued to impress on the pitch.

He can be deployed behind the strikers and in the number ten role for Forest but he would be better served up front, that is where the striker will be at his most effective.

But to do so, he must dislodge Lewis Grabban from the starting XI, and that will be no easy feat.

The striker has scored nine Championship goals and ten in all competitions this term, and it looks a near impossible task to get in ahead of the mercurial attacker.

With that said we asked Nottingham Forest fans if they thought Ansarifard could force his way into the Forest starting XI ahead of Grabban.

It was a majority verdict against the new signing being able to get in the side ahead of an in-form Grabban.

It was a landslide win for the Forest top scorer with 77 per cent of the many fans who voted feeling that Ansarifard will not be able to force his way into the starting XI ahead of the 30-year-old.

It has been an impressive campaign for the former Aston Villa and Norwich striker who looks unbelievably confident in front of goal this season.

Conversely, the remaining 23 per cent felt that the new November signing has what it takes to dislodge the striker from his comfortable perch spearheading the Nottingham Forest attack.

It would be a tough ask, but the minority of those who voted believe the Iran international has what it takes to do just that.

It remains to be seen with Karanka’s team selection this weekend and beyond, but at present, most of the Forest fans who voted feel that Grabban is the man to lead the team forward and that Ansarifard hasn’t got what it takes to get his position as of yet.
